GOP Doesn't Get It!!!!

I can't help but wonder what's wrong with the GOP, or any of our congressmen for that matter. Here is a bill, the Obama health care plan and it is full of spending, completely unregulated and yet there is nothing from the republicans about it. The left has every manner of demonstration, admittedly often over the top, yet they win their battles because of it. It is time that republicans made a little more stink about the problematic issues of the democrats.

Republicans need to stop being so timid that they are afraid to call things what they are. Being "civil" is always the way to get things done. They should start calling things for what they are. One example is that they should start calling socialists, just that. They are so afraid to criticize Obama and his administration and name their offenses. The moment one of the administration says, "are you trying to say?????" the GOP loses its voice and so it makes them look like they were just lying or trying to stir things up even though what they said was the truth. On the other side. the democrats have the nerve to say lies and they never back down only make them even more extreme. They come on the attack and in so doing intimidate far too many people.

Have we become a nation of sheep? Are we really so afraid to stand up to the lies being put forward by these outrageous leaders of ours? There has been ample evidence from the mouths of almost everyone in the current administration that they are or have been communists or socialists. There is not one situation of them rejecting those beliefs. When asked directly about them they usually answer the question with another question such as, "Do you really think I'm a socialist?" or the like thus putting the questioner on the defensive. This ought not to be so. They ought to be made to answer.

Bill O'Reilly recently was bemoaning the fact that when you have a guest on the show and try to do an interview they refuse to answer the question you ask and instead just give their talking points. There is a really simple solution to this. You simply turn them off if they're not going to answer their question. Another good option is to begin to put words in their mouths and let them correct you. No one wants to have words put in their mouths and this strategy will usually produce some results. The right has become far too civil in my opinion.

The right is so completely unskilled at putting the left off their game or keeping them off balance. They are continually on the defense which is always a lose position to be in. This is not to say they should resort to the tactics of the left with rioting and obnoxious behavior, but it is to say they really need to "grow a pair" as they say. The left talks about getting "a little bloody" and they literally mean it, while the right can't even talk in metaphoric terms when it comes to taking the gloves off.

Worse still not only is the right too timid but they really don't stand for much different than the left. They like to pretend they're different but they're also for big government and lots of spending of our money. Even now there is a great deal of debate that the republicans aren't really proposing anything much different than the democrats when it comes to the budget. They behave as thougha government shut down is the worst thing that could happen, but what I say to this is that they are afraid that we'll see just how much we can get along without the government. They'll keep essential things running but that is as it should be. Why is the government doing anything non-essential in the first place.

The government wasn't designed to do whatever it wanted. It wasn't meant to be there to just try  things and if the leaders like those things just keep doing them. The federal government at least had very specific restrictions which everyone seems to have forgotten at this point.

What the people still don't want to face is that there is very little different between the GOP and the democrats. They both seem to have the same ends, their demeanor and their methods vary a little but ultimately they seem to have the same goals and seem to represent the same things. They have both allowed the government to grow at alarming rates, they both beleive in such socialist programs as medicare, and social security, and this is because at their root they believe it is the government's responsibility to take care of the people. I don't mean that they beleive their job is to protect the people or to protect their rights. I mean they beleive it is their job to provide for the people. It is as though they think that they have their own money supply and that they can actually take care of the people.

It is not the responsiblity of the government at least according to the constitution to do this. Their only job is to protect the people and to protect the rights given to us by our creator. In some countries they have either decided or had socialism imposed and that is fine if that is what they want, but our nation was not meant to be such a thing.

If we are not willing to name the problem then we are not really ready to deal with the problem. I say don't let other people silence you when you either call them what they are, or when you want to question them about what they're doing. They answer to us not the other way around! Our representatives are just that. They represent us, and if they're not going to do a good job of representing what we want then we have every right to get them out of office and find those who will represent us. They seem to feel it is their job to tell us what we want and what we need and sadly too many people seem to agree with them.

It has become an unspoken law that you shouldn't say something bad about another person or it will be turned into some politically correct slur that can be used against you. We are far too concerned about hurting people's feellings or worrying about what others will call us. Calling someone a racist with no basis whatever is nothing less than, or more than name calling. Call them out on them and demand they give specifics if they can't then sue them for defamation of character. This is what they would do. Oh, but then comes the cry that we don't want to lower ourselves down to their level.

When I say the republicans don't get it, I mean they don't know what the people of the nation want or they just don't care for the most part. Consider how few of the republicans you heard defending Gov. Walker. There were almost none to be found. It seemed to fall mostly to Fox News to make some defense of what he was doing. For the most part none of the republicans wanted to touch it with a ten foot pole. Too afraid they might offend the unions and escalate the situation. It was the perfect time to make their case to the American people. Once again the republicans were just letting things stay with the status quo. This is has got to stop.

The democrats have more than enough people willing to fight about every little thing. They are more than willing to cry foul on every issue. They are willing to name call. Yet can we find a republican anywhere that was willing to stand up for one of his own when it came to the union bullying? There were a few senators and representatives but it was almost exclusively the ones from Wisconsin who were standing up for Walker and making any remarks about the absent democrats. Yet even in this none of them dared to stay how those democrats were standing in the way of democracy. It is almost as though they want to let them get away with it, so that if they fail they'll have some excuse.

This is a fight for the nation and though our non-representing representatives don't seem to care very much because they're the ones helping with the demise of our nation I beleive there are still many good Americans out there who don't want to see the end of our republic. I beleive this is even the majority of people. The majority has been silenced by the minority long enough.

It is time for the majority to begin to confront the environmentalists when it comes to oil and other forms of power, when it comes to private property rights, when it comes to global warming and certainly when it comes to states rights and federal rights. We need to speak up and stop being meeley mouthed about it. If we don't speak up soon our nation will be lost to us.

The GOP's modest efforts at lowering government spending and shrinking the size of government sure doesn't look like a very serious effort on their part. It is like they are doing just  as much as is absolutely necessary to make it look like they're trying to get things under control. In reality all they're doing is what they've always done. They are cutting back on the rate of growth not on the growth itself.

This is another aspect to what is going on that has largely been forgotten. At one time it was covered quite a bit and our non-representing representatives couldn't hide under a rock and parade how much they were doing to cut government because everyone understand they were only cutting the rate of growth not the actual rate. Now they feel free to once again tout how much they are doing to cut government because everyone has forgotten all about that little trick of theirs that they've used so successfully for so long.

It is a shame we have a media so ill equipped to actually research things and report accurately on what the government is trying to get away. As I've often said in the past they are more like the government lapdogs than the government watchdogs. they do nothing to prevent them from continuing pulling these tricks. Instead they faithfully report whatever they're told. I'm not sure if this comes  from the laziness so many of our youth have learned in school and the dumbing down of our kids or it has more to do with them trying to cover for them.

So it is with a heavy and not hopeful heart I keep hoping I will see the media take a more antagonistic view as well as reporting style to the government which is really what they ought to be doing. They ought to be demanding clear answers to their questions and when they don't get them they should expose the answers for what they are. If our representatives waste our time with a lot of evasive answers they should simply be cut off and not given the air time unless they are willing to stop obfuscating. This is the sort of thing O'Reilly used to do. He wouldn't put up with people giving all the spin but now he puts up with it all the time and doesn't continue to press and demand answers from his guests. It seems the reporters are more eager to get an interview with someone really big than to risk insulting them and not having any more access at all. It should be the other way around. Our representatives ought to be made to understand that it is they that will not have access to the reporters if they are not going to speak clearly about what they're doing.

Dept Of Justice Not Doing Their Job

It is quite apparent that the DOJ is not doing their job. the situations they chooose to look at and the situations they choose to ignore are completely mystifying to the common man.

They not only ignored the case of the New Black Panther intimidation at the polling places, but they told the prosecutors to set it aside and not prosecute even though there was abundant evidence and sure conviction. Yet the DOJ chooses to insert itself into the case of the Muslim teacher who wanted to do her Mecca journey even though this is clearly not something of national importance.

Now we have a situation of a clear threat to the economy by people who have clearly articulated their intent to destroy the economy of the United States and they have a plan in place to do it, yet the DOJ and Holder in specific can't be bothered to look into it. This is clearly far more important than the case of the Muslim teacher but even with pressure from congressmen Holder and the DOJ are trying to sidestep the issue and not pursue it in any way at all. They behave as though it were nothing more than a conspiracy theory even though it is clearly documented on film that this is their intent. The amounts to treason, or insurrection at the very least and quite possibly conspiracy to overthrow the government of the United States.

So what is their justification for ignoring this very important issue? Apparently they do not even feel they need a justification. All they need to do is say that they are not going to pursue it and the issue is closed. The congressmen write their letters wanting information and then act as though they've done all they can and let the subject drop.

One can only wonder if our representatives are not going along with this as well. Certainly if they were taking it seriously they would do whatever it took to get an answer from Obama and the DOJ as to why nothing is being done to stop this.

The country as probably never been in greater danger of collapse than it is right now and yet our representatives can't be bothered to follow up or take any serious action to stop it. Our leaders were so panicked about the economy 2 years ago that they dumped 1.5 trillion dollars of our money into the economy yet now they can't even be bothered to do an investigation? None of this makes any sense unless their goal is the ultimate demise of the nation.

Obama won't issue any permits to the United States to drill in the Gulf of Mexico, but he will issue them to Brazil! Does this make any sense? It does it you are looking to cripple or destroy the United States.

Obama can't get his budget with vastly more spending through which would be the nail in the coffin so instead he singlehandedly gets us involved in another war with the same kind of huge spending involved without so much as a word to or from congress?! Yet another way to bypass congress on spending. Obama really doesn't care what the spending is on so long as it makes America go broke and through that bring the United States down.

Am I the only one concerned with this? There is little or no question that Stephen Learner's statements and even associations should be investigated. Everything I've heard from the recordings of his meeting seems to indicate he should be investigated. Just the fact that he didn't want to say everything at the meeting for fear there might be police there indicates that he was concerned what he was saying would be considered illegal.

For a man to be making such bold statements about how to bring the Nation down and for no one to even investigate it is very concerning. This sort of thing cannot continue. It sure seems that at the least he should be seriously investigated and it is beginning to appear that so should holder for his unwillingness to do his job.

How is it that we have people who swore to uphold the constitution and the laws of the land and then flaunt them and nothing even happens and hardly anything is even said about it? These men should be impeached or thrown out of office or fired at the very least yet still nothing happens.

The fact that such tapes as those that contain Stephen Learner's plans to topple the government in his own words can be delivered to the DOJ and no action or even seeming concern is expressed should cause us at least as much concern as the threats of Learner.

The lack of conern or even interest should be a strong indicator to us that Attorney General Holder and his minion are at the very least not opposed to the goals or methods of Stephen Learner and his ilk.

People are calling this economic-terrorism, but in my opinion it goes far deeper than that. As serious as econmic terrorism is, it is more of an invented term and makes it sound likes it's more about scaring people than actually doing something real. What Learner is talking about is sedition, and conspiracy to overthrow the government of the United States. The banks are merely the means. From all the discussion you would think the banks were the ends. You would think the goal was a depression. This goes far beyond economics where his goals are concerned and it minimizes the danger to make it all about economics. It is about toppling our entire government and replacing it with something socialist or communist.

Obama Change, What Kind of Change?

We were told there were going to be changes under Obama and there have certainly been changes. The question is what kind of changes and where they the changes that we wanted. It seems Obama's ideas of change were quite different than what many of us wanted. He sold it as a generic change and let everyone think it was whatever they wanted it to be. For some reason the neither the media or the people were asking exactly what kind of changes were going to be made. No one demanded of our current president what he planned to change and to what ends.

Let us consider the changes that have happened. We have a president who has trampled the constitution he swore to defend more than any other president. Yet this has happened with almost complete impunity. He has brought the nation into one of the severest recessions we've ever experienced. The only thing that might be considered worse than this recession is the great depression. We are now being told we can expect this near 10% unemployment to continue for at least another 7-10 years. How do we expect to make it as a nation with this being the case? The question no one seems to be asking is why it should take 7-10 years to come out of any recession? No one is asking what he's doing specifically to get us out of the recession and no one questions his bland and diplomatic answers that don't say any more than his mottos of change and "yes we can" (yes we can what?) All the president has to say is that he's going "grow the economy" and people behave as though this is enough to make it happen.

What of our president making a mockery of judges decisions and simply acting as though they don't matter if he doesn't like them.

Our allies, England, Egypt and Israel have been treated like dirt, while our enemies have been treated with kid gloves. What kind of change is this?

Obama has almost completely shut down the American oil industry while at the same time opening up deep water drilling to our competitors.

Obama has created more czar positions and given them more power seemingly than the congress. Not even Pelosi, Reid or any of the republican representatives for that matter have done anything about this.

Were any of these things changes we were screaming and hoping for? I don't think so. This is the problem. No one is questioning what Obama is doing and for the most part it seems that no one is even allowed to question what he is doing or why.

Did we really want to have an administration filled with those that openly express an allegience to communism? did we expect such a change in the administration that would allow almost all of the top cabinet positions to be filled with communists and people who are or have been members of the American communist party? Did we expect  or hope for a change where the congress would become irrelevant?

Were we hoping for the kind of change that would make it easier for a union boss to visit and show up at the White House unannounced than for any of the senators?

Were any of these things really the things we were hoping for?

We were hoping to see our national debt go to 14 trillion dollars before the president was even half way through his first time, and that with nothing to show for it?

Can anyone name even one really good specific thing that was done with the more than 1 trillion dollars in stimulous? We all know of the many abuses but it doesn't seem even the president points to one major use of that money that proved beneficial. Instead what we hear are things that are nebulous and unprovable. We are told that money "saved or created" 12-43 million jobs depending on which one of our bottom feeding non-representing representatives you listen too, but they don't say or where specifically. the reason for this is that they don't know. It is nothing more than propaganda.

We have a president to constantly tells us what "he's" going to do for us with OUR money. He's not doing anything but taking our hard earned money and giving it to others not willing to work for even one time. He is eager to take from anyone that has and give to those who not only don't have, but won't produce.

Holder, one of Obama's chief cronies is more than happy to investigate to the fullest those who are least deserving of such attention, Christians and tea party people, but stands int he way of investigating any questionable union tactics, intimidation or violence, police not doing there jobs, or the black panthers and their clear violation of voter's rights. Yet again there is no media or outrage about this. Is this really the change we were looking for?

Where is coverage of this? Why are there no charges being brought against these people or calls for impeachment or at the very least an investigation? Why are there no charges against these people? Is this the kind of change we wanted, a government run by cronies and insiders? Did we really want a government and a president who views this country as his own fiefdom and who looks to extend that control and power in every way possible and snarls at those who question his right to do so?

Why do we put up with this? Why are we not demanding something be done about this?

I can't but think that our silence and compliance with these and many other things indicates to Obama that the time has come for the change he wants to bring to this country.

A President Above the Law

We have a president who feels he is above the law. He doesn't think he doesn't need to obey the constitution getting the congress involved to start a war with a country. He doesn't feel he answers to the American people or even needs to explain to us why he's going to war.

He doesn't need to obey Federal Judges who tell him he can't declare no drilling. He doesn't need to obey a Federal Judge who declares his health care plan is unconstitutional. He doesn't need to let us see his birth certificate. Too many miss the point that it's not as much about whether he is actually born here as it is about him proving that he is. Why should he be exempt from proving he was born here and qualifies for position as president.

He simply does not seem to feel that the rules apply to him. Where are the calls for impeachment. This is a man who is not defending the constitution and is actually taking many steps against it. This is most certainly cause for impeachment.

NPR Funding???

Why are we funding the media with taxes? Why are we giving NPR money to run their company to the tune of millions? Was this ever intended by our founding fathers?

Yes, we would all love for the "government" to give us "free" money. Well wait a minute... the government doesn't have its own money!! That money is mine and  yours. They get that money from us. Well I don't want my money going to support a racist, socialist, media group like NPR. I seem to have no say in it, but the constitution certainly doesn't not provide for the Federal government to allocate money for that. If it is not specifically enumerated in the constitution giving the federal government some power, then it DOES NOT HAVE THAT POWER!

We need to get back to constitution in determining what the federal government is permitted it do.

Sadly the republicans are as bad as the democrats in grabbing power they were not giving in the constitution and then not wanting to give it up.

The NPR should be defunded immediately! They have no RIGHT to our money. It is the same for abortion. There should not be one dime of our money given to support abortion.

But for the sake of this article. We need to keep the constitution in mind. Most especially where the media is concerned the government should never be involved providing money to them and thus exercising control over what is said.

What would people say if the government was funding Fox News? or any of the numerous private papers in the country. They should not be in that business at all!

It is time for our representatives to get back to the constitution and stop their socialist march to government doing everything!

Republicans Standing in the Way of Democracy???

It is amazing sometimes how the democrats manage to turn things around and even Fox News doesn't seem to know the right question to ask to clarify the situation.

Recently in Wisconsin they changed what was in the law so they could get it passed without the democrats being there.

What was standing in the way of democracy and people getting their vote was the democrats leaving so no vote could happen. Then they whine because they're not there to vote against it when it's changed. Who's fault is that? Who was standing in the way of the democratic process? It was the Democrats leaving the state. Who was having their votes thwarted... EVERYONE that wanted the bill to pass that the republicans were putting forward!

It is simple insanity and amazing hypocrisy that the democrats can whine about "sneaking" things by when the republicans were there for weeks while democrats stonewalled them by not being there to let the vote go forward. Yet I can't help but wonder how they would justify the same situation with the democrats and the healthcare bill where they wouldn't even let republicans be in the room while it was being written dump it on them the next morning and expect them to vote.

Quorum busting was never intended by our founding fathers. Their reasons for doing it don't make any sense. First they said they did so they could read the bill. Well how long does that take? It wasn't a 2,000 page bill like SOME bills provided by democrats. Then they said it was so the people could get a chance to speak their mind. Well, that insanity continued for weeks... so there goes that excuse. For some reason the News Media don't bring any of these things up.

Those democrats that fled the state just don't feel they should be losing. They are like spoiled children who want to take their ball go home and then complain it's not fair that the other kids play because one of them went and got his own bat and ball and the game continued. Then they cry that its not fair they were kept out of the game. They were not KEPT out of the game. They CHOSE to leave the game. SORRY!

Terrorist Terrorist Cries the Left

I find it amazing that the left is not willing to call people islamic "terrorists" but they're more than willing to compare honest law abiding citizens who disagree with their political views terrorists. They throw this word around like it was a weapon. They use the term to denigrate good people simply because they disagree with them, yet they are not willing to use the term with people who deserve it.

This is way over the top and these people ought to be told to get a clue. Instead of the media doing everything they can to be inflammatory toward our own representatives and try to cause outbreaks of revolution at every turn maybe they should start thinking like Americans and talking like Americans.

They are more eager to criticize Americans than people who really deserve their criticism. They are more than eager to criticize Tea Party people as violent, and terrorists and Nazis, yet they are invariably the ones using the terms and being violent.

Their hypocrisy, extremism, and propaganda are so apparent that people are hardly watching or listening to them any more which only seems to cause them to be more extreme with each appearance.

The left seems willing to call almost anyone except Muslims terrorists. I for one find this astounding. Clearly to the left the term terrorist is simply a convenient word that is meant to be used as a weapon against those you don't like. It's meant to silence people. It's meant to put them in their place. It's meant to alienate them from others who might otherwise listen to them and even join their views.

It is, however, rarely used to describe those who are true terrorist, which is almost always the Muslims. Of course the fact that this term is only used to describe those the left considers enemies, it does make you wonder what they think of Muslim terrorists? Do they consider them friends or at least as non-threats? When people need to use other terms for things than those that actually apply it should always cause you to wonder what their motivation is. It should cause you to wonder if they actually know how words should be used. But, more than anything it should cause you to wonder whether you ought to trust the people using those terms incorrectly.

The representatives and media using these kinds of tactics seem to have only two goals in mind, confusion and turning people on each other. Both of these things are very serious and show at their heart that these people have another agenda than the strengthening of America.

No one wants to say it, but there is an unfortunate and indeed severe leaning in our nation toward communism and socialism. Even our present stands strongly behind this kind of government philosophy. Where at one time it would have caused a great deal of concern now it hardly raises and eyebrow. It is clear that even with the ambivalence toward these political ideologies in our nation they are still afraid to come out and plainly admit they support these things. I suppose they understand that even with all the liberal and politically correct pressure that has been applied to the population that still Americans really don't want a socialist or communist nation. This is the reason they avoid these words and make almost anyone willing to use them about our representatives look foolish.

They still dare not let their little secret out. They still don't want to be named for what they are because they understand that perception is very important. Substance is also important but if you can convince poeple that you don't deserve the label in spite of all your actions then your substance won't matter to them and you can continue to do what you wanted.

What really strikes me as odd in this perception war is that the left is free to call the American people stupid and easily mislead and no one takes offense about it, they simply excuse it if it is coming from the left. It almost seems the left can say anything, whether it is contrary to the view of their party or not and people continue to cheer them on. If they say something about being careful with spending everyone cheers them, whether they do it or not, which means at it's root that everyone recognizes that's what they should be doing and therefore they have no room to criticize the right, but at the same time they can continue to spend and that is spun as compassion. They can do no wrong and the conservatives can do now right.

If conservatives want to cut back on spending it's because they don't care about people, and if they actually don't cut back on spending they are hypocrites and liars. It is one of the amazing things about the art of propaganda. No matter what you do or say if you only report one aspect of it or only some of the words said you can make any person appear to be taking any position on anything.

This is what we have happening in our nation right now. Those are the masters of spin have been hard at work for many years now. Those exercising this art are very good at it and over the years they've had a lot of opportunity to determine what works and what doesn't.

Currently there is still enough free press and information in our nation through the internet that people have not wholly swallowed the lie, but it feels like that time is drawing ever closer. I can not begin to say how often I hear people speak in platitudes and when challenged on those platitudes their response is not one of intellectual defense through reason, but rather to call you names and simply behave as though their view is self evident and there must be something wrong with you if you can't see it. These are the same tactics used so effectively by the media and the socialists and communists. If you don't have a good answer, name call, diminish, ignore, and ridicule.

This has been one of the most effective methods of destroying the credibility of your enemies for many years. This method of propaganda has been used at least as far back as World War II. at that time what they found was that dehumanizing your foes was the easiest way to get people to hate them. You made them appear as monsters, baby killers and killers of anyone that you would normally consider innocent, all the while ignoring all the innocent people really being killed.

Though none of these things has ever been left completely behind by either side and the left has definitely continued to use the ploy as an ongoing thing to very good effect it is being used in a much more overt way in our times and to devastating effect. The vicious way in which this has bene used over the last few years ought to be of great concern to everyone in the United States. As with so many things these things usually escalate till they are completely out of hand. Eventually violence breaks out and once the genie is out of the bottle there is no putting it back.

For some reason the left understands and uses this idea. It is the fear of the genie getting out of the bottle that ever keeps the right backing away when it is attacked. Sooner or later they will feel the need to defend themselves and when that happens out comes the genie.

It is for this reason that the left feels free to demonize as much as they want. It is also for this reason that the right never attacks back in kind. This is also the reason the left is more than happy to cal the right terrorists. It comes back to knowing what everyone thinks of terrorists instinctively. After a while you don't even question whether they're really terrorists you simply react emotionally as though they were.

though the right won't do this the left is happy to. When the right does use such terms as comparing what someone is doing to what Hitler did, they are not comparing his crimes they are comparing his methods. When the left makes the comparison they are comparing people to Hitler the person. They pretend they see no distinction between what the right is doing and what they are doing but they know full well. There is a great difference between comparing a person's methods and a person's personality and actions.

I only wish the media knew and made a distinction between them when they report

Union Confusion

There is a great deal of confusion about the union issues right now. First of all I would like to say I'm not completely against unions. In the private sector I've seen times where they can do a great deal of good for the employees and still not hurt the company.

That being said I would like to say that I'm not for government unions. I do not believe they are either good or right. Oh the workers may end up with great things. The problem is their relationship to the government. For lack of a better term this is an incestuous relationship.

As I have mentioned in another article there is no difference between what is happening and money laundering. Our taxes are being funneled through the government to the public employees and then back to government officials. There is further an expectation of services from the official for the support offered to them by the unions with what is ultimately our money.

The representatives make sure to give the unions and their workers very generous pay and benefits in turn those unions agree to kick back a percentage (never specified in amount, though always very large) back to specific representatives. (always those that will continue to shovel more money to the unions.

This one hand washing the other situation has got to come to an end. Much like regular criminal money laundering it is very difficult to prove. Regardless of this difficulty it does not change the ethics of it. Because the Unions continue to demand more and ever more from the government, the government continues to demand more and ever more from the people in taxes. This is what is normally known as extortion. What is the difference between this and racketeering? I cannot think of any real difference, except instead of being threatened with having your legs broken you are threated with prison if you do not pay the taxes they demand.

Our representatives refuse to be responsible with our money and yet they still feel they have every right to demand more. After all it is for the good of the people.

To this I say it is for the good of government workers, it is good for politicians who use severe taxing as a means of control and power, and it is good for all the takers in society. The question is whether this is actually good for the rest of the country? They would have us believe that having everyone get free food, education, transportation, even a house, whether they can afford it or not, because YOU'RE not giving your fair share is not compassion and it is not good for the nation.

You might just was well make the case that a man who robs your money from you should not be arrested because he's using it to feed his family, or buy a poor friend of his a car, or a house. These two situations are the same. There is really no difference morally or ethically. The only difference is that the government has the law behind them, but then they're the ones that make the laws.

Is this not like putting a thief in charge of writing laws about what constitutes theft or larceny? Wouldn't the thief always be found innocent and worse you would be the criminal for trying to prevent him from taking what is yours.

The public unions are doing just this now. They are demanding more or at the very least insisting that no one has the right to tell them they can't keep everything they've already bargained for. The rules can only be changed if it is in their favor. Otherwise we are told that we have no right and they have every right and for you to question them is to question THEIR rights.

What about OUR rights? Our right to OUR money! Does anyone have the RIGHT to more money or the RIGHT to more benefits. People have become very confused over what the difference between rights and wants are. Socialism has lent itself to this misunderstanding. It has led us to believe that people don't have a right to more than a specific amount of money. Though who decides what that amount should be isn't clear. It's always some nebulous hatred of "THE RICH". the amount of money seems to change depending on how much you make.

Many public employees are making upwards of $140,000 per year. Yet they insist on calling themselves "middle class" They want to bring down the "RICH". Well then we are in agreement so they should be brought down to the same levels as the rest of us.. how about between 30-50k per year. Oh, I'm quite certain they would scream about such a change to their income.

It is for this reason that say these people don't really want the rich brought down. This is simply a way to stir up hatred and disctract from the fact that they are indeed the elite class themselves. Consider how often it is that the elite classes are the ones getting us angry at those around us who have more than us. They would have us believe these people did it on our backs. In the private industry this is never true. We either given them our money and get a product in return or we decide it is not worth it and don't buy it. In the case of public employees you have no choice but to buy their product and pay for it whether you use or want it. Now I ask you is this really fair or right? But this is what public employee Unions would have you believe.

We ought to be far more outraged at how they have taken our money and income from us and then don't even give our kids a good education. Non-professional teachers, also known as mothers do a far better job of education in home schooling than do most of our teachers. What does this say about these "valued" pubic employees? They often have master's degrees and yet still they do a worse job than regular moms at home. It has been shown that homeschooled kids generally score higher than those in public schools.

I suspect this is because public school teachers are more concerned about picketing, getting benefits and their pay than they are about their students even though they would have us believe they are doing this for the students. It is also such a load of rubbish it is enough to make you almost sick.

The public unions would have you believe that they are the same as other unions and therefore to attack them is the same as attackin all unions, but the reality is quite different. The media is unwilling to do its job in giving information to the people about what these people actually stand for. All they want to do is simply report the propaganda the pubic unions would hand out to us and as such the media is a willing lapdog of the government and the public unions rather than being the watchdog they are supposed to be.

as citizens we ought to be greatly outraged at all this, but then we are all very busy in our lives and our leaders and media depend on that. The public unions being mostly socialist and communist in their leadership count on this as well. They want things to reach a boiling point and thus spark something more violent and out of control. The socialists and communists in our nation which to see this government overthrown and cast aside. They want things to fall apart and would certainly be more than happy even if it turned violent. They somehow think they are going to come out on top. They already see themselves in that place and think they cannot be removed.

For the sake of the nation I hope that Gov. Walker is completely successful in everything he is trying to do where the public unions are concerned. They have far too much power and at this point feel they don't need to worry about anything.

I have to wonder why know one is criticizing the democrats who refuse to come back and vote. At this point it is clearly on them that people are going to start getting laid off. These democrats do not care about jobs or working people, they only care about unions which are not the same thing!

Quorums Busting A Disgrace

What is happening in Wisconsin right now is most certainly something that would never be condoned by the founding fathers. These men who have fled from their responsibility and gone to another state are no different than the anti-federalists. They didn't like the new constitution and decided they would simply hold it hostage by not showing up to vote thus robbing the rest of  the congress from the ability to vote on it. (see below)

In September 1787, the Constitution was submitted to the states for ratification. The Pennsylvania Assembly met to pass legislation creating a convention that would decide if the state should sign on to the newly re conceived United States. But something was missing: a quorum. Several anti-Federalist lawmakers, determined to defeat the new Constitution, refused to show up for work, paralyzing the assembly.

The Federalists were displeased. The anti-Federalist flight, they said, was “the conduct of an unmanly minority.” And so an intrepid mob went down to Major Boyd’s Tavern, ferreted out two recalcitrant legislators, and dragged them to the statehouse. A quorum restored, lawmakers passed their resolutions as the mob rained “the most insulting language” down upon the erstwhile absconders.

The Wisconsin and Indiana state legislators now holed up in Illinois are not the first to skip town and deny their political adversaries a quorum to do business. Even Abe Lincoln once defenestrated himself from the Springfield statehouse in a botched bid to deny the majority Democrats their numbers.

Supporters of the Wisconsin 14 invoke this history of quorum busting to justify, and even to praise, the Badger State exodus. But the fact that it’s been done before doesn’t make it right. The better questions to ask are why we have quorums in the first place, and whether quorums are designed to encourage, or to prevent, defiant minority blocs from bolting the state.

Certainly these men can be found. Reporters have found them but are so eager to get the interview that they refuse to divulge their whereabouts. It is past the time for this. These men need to be brought back to their jobs even if it means arresting them and dragging them back in cuffs. These men should suffer every form of ridicule for doing everything they can to stand in the way of the will of the people through the democratic process.

Our founding fathers viewed this kind of behavior as the sort of thing that could ruin a nation and you have to wonder if this is not their intention. They seem almost gleeful about all the hoopla they're creating. This is both an embarrassment to the people and to the institution of government to which these people belong. They do not deserve to keep their positions and should be recalled as quickly as possible, if for no other reason than to send the message that we are not going to put up with this kind of behavior from our elected officials. They work for us not the other way around. If they are not going to do their jobs then we need to get rid of them. It is just that simple.

Federalist 58, James Madison criticized the “baneful practice of secessions” as “subversive of all the principles of order and regular government; a practice which leads more directly to public convulsions, and the ruin of popular governments, than any other which has yet been displayed among us.”

Quorums are most certainly an important thing to have, but they were not meant to be used to stop a bill you didn't like when you couldn't vote it down, they were meant to be a means of preventing a minority in the congress or other areas of government from gathering and quickly passing a law with no majority vote. To intentionally desert your post so prevent a vote that you know is what the majority wants is against everything our founders were trying to do. As our duly elected officials and our employees they have an obligation to show up for votes. This is not a case of some minority trying to meet quickly and almost secretly to pass some bill before the majority can prevent it. This is quite the opposite and for these men to pretend they are doing the work of government by not showing up for their jobs is a disgrace.

These men ought to suffer as much public embarrassment as we can possibly heap on them. These men have behaved in the most shameful and cowardly way. As if often the case with true cowards they try to cloak what they're doing as being out of concern for someone as though they are actually being brave. They are afraid of the unions. They are exercising the only power they have which is to run away. This is disgraceful. These men are a complete disgrace to their office. Is this really what we hired them for?

It is doubtful that any except the unions feel these men are doing their jobs.
