Though I grew up in NY, I still have difficulty
understanding the mindset there. They continue to vote for Democrats no matter
how absurd the laws or rules are by those Democrats. It is as though New
Yorkers don’t trust their own good judgment and as such if a representative
tells them something is for their own good and as such it is now the law (big
gulps, no salt in restaurants and the like come to mind) that the people just
accept it and try to live with it. They refuse to vote these people out or
maybe, just maybe, consider trying the other party and see if they do a better
job. They behave as though if a person gets in as a representative there is no
way to get rid of them.
I believe that all too many people believe the same thing.
Either people are no longer willing to be responsible voters, or they have just
given up being involved. In the case of the democrats they are more than happy
if this is the case. Sadly I fear that most democrats feel the American people
are too stupid or too simple to really understand the issues and as such feel
that you ought to just accept that they’re doing what they are for your own
good and go with it.
If we look at what is happening in NY right now we can see
that no one but the democrats and the environmentalists are responsible. They
have built virtually no new power stations, either because the Democrat
representatives are against them for environmental reasons or because of the
environmental groups that will have them tied up in litigation forever if they
want to get it done. Either way the result is the same and it is because the
representatives they have won’t do what’s actually the best thing for the
people. They are more concerned about animals or air or global warming than
they are the people of that state.
Ex-Mayor Giuliani has said that NY has been living on the
edge for a very long time now and yet they have not upgraded their power grids,
or water supplies. All of this he credited to the representatives and the
environmental groups. He went on to say that most of the major cities in the
United States are in the same shape and for the same reasons. So again I ask,
why do we continue to vote in people who won’t stand up to these groups and do
the right thing by the people?
Instead of blaming the rich all the time maybe we should
start putting the blame where it belongs, WITH OUR REPRESENTATIVES! They are
very good at deflecting and blaming everyone else, but very short on
responsibility or actual fixes; instead they prefer to demonize and blame.
It’s time we got rid of do nothing representatives. The
mayor of New York is more concerned with how much food you eat, whether it has
too much salt, whether your big gulp is too large, and having a marathon, than
he is about making sure the people of his city have enough power, or ENOUGH
Food. For God’s sake, those people are now searching dumpsters for food. The
reason is not enough power backups so all the food has gone bad. Instead of
worrying that they’re eating too much he should be making sure they have
enough!
And Barbara Boxer, who’s going to get to the bottom of why
we have such high gas prices; well maybe if she hadn’t helped pass laws that
require 30 different blends of gasoline such that we can’t buy gas from any
place else in the nation if we have a shortage! She says she’s worried about
joblessness in California, but keeps passing laws to GET THOSE EVIL BUSINESSES,
so of course they leave and the jobs along with them.
We seriously need to get these people out of government!
