Benghazi – High Crimes and Misdemeanors

If this situation doesn’t qualify as a high crime and misdemeanor according to the founders or even according to societal norms I don’t know what would. Yet what do we hear from the administration and from our weak representatives? What we here is that they need more information, which the administration won’t provide and our representatives are more than willing to wait years to get. This is a situation that demands a speedy answer. If we’re going to be voting on whether or not we want Obama for another term we have every right as citizens to know what happened in Benghazi! We have a right to know why our commander and chief did nothing to save those men. We have a right to know who gave the order for the CIA to stand down as well as any others that would have gone to their rescue. We have a right to know what the administration was so concerned about that he didn’t send anyone in to save those men. We have a right to know why they lied about what happened for 2 weeks after the incident even though they knew from the very beginning the real cause of what had happened.

There are so many unanswered question about what happened and yet no one seems determined to get those answers for us. The media is derelict in its duty reporting on the incident because they are so clearly in Obama’s camp that they don’t want any shred of news getting out that might hurt his re-election.

What is going on with our nation? Where is the outrage about events that would normally be acts of war? What is the matter with a president who is afraid to act without the permission of the offending country? Why was he afraid to send men in? If anyone dared to obstruct them that should also have been understood as an act of war and treated as such. What kind of commander and chief do we have? This is an outrage to civility as well as international law and general rules of decency.

Where both the people and the media ought to be screaming for answers till they get them, nothing is happening. Most of the media except Fox News is behaving as though nothing happened at all. “Nothing to see here… Move along.” Seems to be the attitude from our leaders and our media! Since when did we start living in Russia?! I could understand such things from the media and the regime in Russia where everything is still tightly controlled by the communists even though they would like to pretend it is not. I could expect such a black out of offending news against one of the Chinese leaders, but the last time I checked this was America, or maybe it’s not the America I grew up in after all.
Have Americans become so docile that they have lost all ability to be outraged over the death of our own citizens at the hands of terrorists. I for one am quite fed up with cowering before the Muslims for fear of offending the “minority” of extremists. Clearly if they’re such a minority then why would our government be so afraid to call them what they are? The reason is that everyone recognizes that for the most part these “extremists” represent most of Islam not merely the minority. It is just that the only the minority are taking up arms, but then this is the case with any nation. This does not mean the rest of the nation does not support what their military is doing simply because they have not all taken up arms.

It is interesting how they have decided that screaming racist when you question the president isn’t working anymore and is actually turning people off. Now the Democrats have a new term. Any time you want answers to some misbehavior by the president you’re “politicizing” the issue. The term is used as though this obviously means you have no right to demand an answer or even ask the question from the president.

Our president screws up in Libya and we are told to ask questions and want to know why this happened and why they lied to the American people is politicizing the issue. Though Obama may think of himself as a king simply because the media treats him that way does not mean that he does not answer to the American people. It also does not mean that he is immune from the charge of high crimes and misdemeanors. If ever there was a time to invoke this charge it is most certainly now regarding the death of our ambassador and 3 other men. Ambassador Stevens was a representative of the United States. He directly represented the president to other nations. If they treated him this way that it is a direct affront to the United States and to the president.

Unfortunately our president seems to feel that the United States deserves everything we get from other nations. He has apologized for America on almost every opportunity he’s gone. He was even busy apologizing for the video that didn’t cause this problem and then went through the effort of having the man arrested as though he and by extension, America was the one responsible for the death of the American ambassador.

Has come out that Obama was probably in the situation room watching the whole thing go down and was probably also at the root of the orders to stand down instead of doing everything possible to rescue those men in the embassy.

Oddly the media seems to feel it is the job of Romney as a candidate to somehow ferret this out and go after Obama for what happened. Now there is little doubt that he could use it as part of his campaign strategy, but it is equally certain that it is not his job to go after the facts or prosecute the case; that job belongs to congress and the media. Sadly the congress is dragging their heels on this again. They have gone to the media outlet that will air their comments, but this is not something to be played out in what amounts to the News Talk Show format. This is their responsibility and they need to take their responsibility as seriously as they’re saying the president should take his. It’s interesting they can criticize him but look how long they’ve let Fast and Furious go and knowing how things work in Washington even if Obama is re-elected it is doubtless that either nothing would come from the Benghazi incident for 2-4 years or would never nothing at all would come of it ever.

I would ask where the outrage of the American people was but there is little because the media has done everything they can to cover this situation up and protect the president. Of course the easiest way to do this is to just not report it at all which for the most part is just what the media has done. They are as derelict in their duty as the president has been.

Obama Cover-ups and Lies

AS more information comes out regarding the attack on Bengazi we are finding that the administration did know what happened and why. They were warned ahead of time and were told that more security was needed. They made the decision at the highest levels to ignore those requests even though they knew it would endanger our ambassadors. They purposely tried to deceive the American people about the cause. They knew it had nothing to do with “the video”. My guess is they didn’t even know of a specific video. There are dozens on the net. You only need to do a search on Mohammad in youtube.com and you will find dozens. They left it up to the rest of us to find “a” video and then assume that was the one.
After trying to lay this trap some average reporting, and I say this because if it were real investigative reporting there would have been a lot more information a lot sooner, started to find there was more to the story than we were first being told. The White House changed their story when they could no longer continue to lie about the reason because even the media knew a video had nothing to do with what happened.

Even after this the president couldn’t help but put this forward as a reason when he gave his speech at the U.N. All of this is only going from bad to worse as more information comes out. The truly said part is that it seems there is little doubt that either the president or one of his slimy aids like Valerie Jarrett told him to do this so it could become some kind of issue against the Christians. After all they have been going after the Christians almost every opportunity they get. Even though this ought to be something they can track down it is doubtful they will ever follow it all the way to the president. There is not one media company out there that wants to or is willing to get directly confrontational with Obama on anything. No matter how much information they have to follow to go after him they are still unwilling to draw the conclusions that data clearly points to.

It would seem you almost never hear of “hard hitting news” anymore. Now it is all about fair and balanced. Why tell the story straightforwardly for what it is when you can always present the twist the other side puts on it. Clearly we don’t have all the information and the media can’t seem t bother with finding the actual information so they just put on pundits and representatives to tell us their side of some issue with no real information or facts with which we can make an informed decision about who is telling us the truth. At that point it just comes down to believing what you want of what a representative says.

Oh yes the congress is going to do an investigation… These investigations take an entire term to complete and usually come to nothing even though they know for sure what has happened and who did or said what.

It never ceases to amaze how long it takes to get anything done in Congress. There is a clear cover-up by the administration concerning Libya and yet it will doubtless take them till long after the election to get anything done even with all the clear evidence they have. It is more like it is a game to them then like it is 4 high level officials and Americans who are dead at the hands of terrorists. Do they not count because it wasn’t at least 3,000 people like in the Twin Towers?

This is something that should not take years, any more than the situation with “Fast and Furious” should take more than a year to get the information they want. Aren’t they congress, what could possibly be something they are not allowed to look at? Sometimes my level of frustration with those who supposedly represent us in congress and the administration rises to such a level that I wonder honestly how we ever elected these people to office and why we continue to elect them office even after they’ve demonstrated so clearly their inability to either get at the truth or even recognize it.

I have little doubt that any real information about the Libyan cover-up will come out before it is too late. This is something we have a right to know about quickly, but again our leaders are aware what short attention spans both we and the news have. Rather than actually pursue something to a point a resolution they are more than content to simply report it for the few days it’s good for and move on to something else. Likewise the congress is also more than happy to let things go on for long periods of time with no progress till it becomes politically expedient to behave as though some new thing has come up and then turn right around and behave as though they can’t get any information because someone isn’t willing to give any information. Consider for a moment that it took them more than a year to hold Holder in contempt of court only to have it completely undone by a simple executive order. Obama and the congress treat his executive orders as though they were royal decrees about which they can’t do anything.

In some senses Obama is right about the congress being a do nothing congress, but then I’m sure he’s quite glad of that with the “Fast and Furious” issue as well as the Libyan cover-up occurring just before the election. He is more than happy at this point that they can’t get anything done.

The Great Debate!

I’m guessing the debate on Tuesday must have been a great disappointment for those who are Obama supporters. It was as though he had nothing but platitudes for the questioners of the news and had almost no response whatever to anything Romney said. Maybe he figured all he had to do was show up and just the sight of him would be more than enough to awe the millions of TV viewers. Maybe he thinks he is just so brilliant that he did prepare. Maybe it’s that he is so average, but think he’s so brilliant that he didn’t prepare. Maybe he assumed that the spin-meisters of the media would somehow protect him and give everything he said the proper spin he wasn’t able to do himself.

Whatever the reason, even the spin-meisters didn’t seem to salvage a declared win for him, even with all their spin. All they could do is what Obama is so good at, namely blame everything but his performance for why things went to incredibly wrong. Though I have not always been tuned into the debates before this and have generally had a rather casual view of them I still have to admit that I can’t remember seeing such a poor performance by any sitting president that I can remember. I could help but wonder if Obama wasn’t wishing that Clinton were there to cover for him and give him the answers he should have had for himself.

Since even the media can’t spin this into something positive they are trying to ignore and simply declare that it doesn’t mean anything at all. The reality is that they all know this means a lot. It was such a poor showing on the part of the president that they can’t deny this is the case all they can do is ignore it and hope the people forget it as quickly as possible.

Still in part what some of the pundits have said is true then it is certainly not over. One debate has never one anyone the presidency. If Obama makes a  good showing at the next debate things could turn around very quickly, but at least for now it seems this is going to give Romney a big bump in the polls which could be a huge help in at least getting his name out to the nation. Before this most people really didn’t know very much about Romney at all except for the negative ads released by the Obama campaign.

Though I know most people don’t really follow the debates all that closely I’m convinced this time around is a different story than in previous campaigns. I have a feeling a large percentage of the population has become very engaged in politics where once they were not. There is a great sense in our nation currently that things are very bad and it may not be long before things become unrecoverable.

It is hard to believe that someone that once ran for president is saying that Obama flubbed was because of the altitude. Others are saying he should have been able to use a teleprompter, which of course means he couldn’t handle a debate by himself and would need a team of people feeding him things to say in response to what Mitt Romney was saying. If he needs someone else to put words in his mouth then maybe they should be running for president instead of him.

It is equally interesting that those who generate and calculate the number for such things as unemployment all of a sudden right after the debate come up with a fantastic showing for the first time in 4 years indicating how much unemployment has dropped. Of course these numbers won’t be revised, nor will new numbers come out until after we vote so they will be there for Obama to use as he pleases. I have little doubt he will be telling us how they indicate how the economy is roaring back. He’ll be telling us that they illustrate just what a great job he has been doing after all and it just took some time for the numbers to reflect it.

They would have us believe these numbers aren’t cooked, but not one person can point to a single thing that would have caused such a dramatic change in unemployment in just one month and oddly right after the first debate. Of course there isn’t the least bit of serious investigative reporting about those numbers. Unfortunately most reporters don’t care to actually investigate things anymore. It may be that they are just not smart enough to investigate anymore and so they are good for nothing but to be the mouth pieces and propagandists of their respective parties.

The numbers they’re giving us don’t make any sense yet they still keep giving them anyway and we’re expected to believe them. The reality is that the news has become unreliable and would rather report in such a way as supports their political views rather than simply report the facts. More and more I wonder if we are much different than Russia or other communist countries where the government actually runs the news and merely leaves it the illusion of telling people what is happening.
