Constitutional Crisis

Constitutional Mandates Ignored
Our leaders swore an oath to defend and protect the Constitution. This has now become interpreted to mean defend and protect the United States. These are not the same things. Because they have become confused about what they are to protect they now think it is their job to rewrite the Constitution for the sake of nation.

As a result they are so zealous to write new laws that they don't even have time to read them before they vote on them! What insanity is this that we let our leaders pass laws without reading them?

Following are some examples of how they are ignoring the Constitution they swore to defend as though it were an outdated document fit for the 21st Century. They have become so superior in their own minds that they feel they don’t need to answer to anyone. Even worse if they are challenged it seems they will purposely do the opposite of what is desired. They have also decided it is time to begin to destroy the lives of those people who oppose them.

They are trying to take over companies as though the government has any right at all to own a company or run it. This is nothing more than fascism. This is not democracy or a democratic republic and it certainly isn’t Constitutional. On top of that consider these are people who are so responsible they voted for a trillion dollars in spending without ever reading the bill that would determine where or how that money would be spent. Do you want people like this running either the nation or even a company?

Below is a short list of Constitutional articles that have been ignored and set aside for the sake of doing what they want rather than what they should.

Article 2, Section 1
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

It has been said recently that our nation may be at a Constitutional crisis. I agree that this may be the case. We may be a point of crisis in several different ways. We have a man who has managed to become president without yet proving that he meets the minimum requirements for that office. Obama has yet to prove he is a natural born citizen. The media doesn't seem to feel there is any need for him to prove this either or at least they are refusing to report anything about it, hoping it will go away.

Obama has stonewalled every attempt to get copies of his school documents that may indicate that he got scholarships and grants and an alien. He has refused to release the originals of his birth certificate and has somehow convinced Hawaii that they should not release those documents to anyone.

Article 1, Section 9
The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

This covers enemy combatants, and though the Constitution is clear about this our non-representing representatives do not seem so clear about it. We have come to some place that we do not feel we have a right to treat our enemies as anything but citizens without doing some harm to our Constitution in spite of the fact that our Constitution makes allowance for this. Our founding fathers understood that we would encounter times of war and have people fighting against us. They understood the dangers these people posted and made the determination that the laws protecting our citizens did not necessarily protect our enemies. Yet our leaders are incapable of recognizing the difference in these two situations. Our leaders have a hard time even recognize those that attacked our nation as enemies.

Article 1, Section 9
No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of ALL public Money shall be published from time to time

The treasury is required to give us an accounting of their expenditures for ALL public money, yet not even the congress can find out where over $300,000,000,000 went. The treasury behaves as though it were none of their business and the congress allows itself to be bullied.

Because we cannot get an accounting of where our money is going they could be doing anything with it. They’ve already shown us they don’t have much in the way of morals or ethics.

Article 1, Section 10
No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

Our money is supposed to be gold and silver coin, but our leaders decided this wasn't such a good idea in spite of what the Constitution says. Rather than amend the Constitution they simply ignore. What does this get us? We now have congress printing money as fast as they can which is going cripple our economy shortly. They should know this is the case, but they choose to ignore the danger. These men and women in congress seem to be under the sad misimpression that they are at least as wise, if not wiser than the founding fathers. I contend that if we had today's congressmen in office at the time the Constitution was written our nation would not have lasted even 50 years much less have grown to be the most powerful and richest nation on the earth. We have leaders that want to try political experimentation with things that have already been done and failed, yet they want to give them another try. This shows that our leaders cannot learn from the mistakes of others. I doubt they will even learn from their own mistakes.
We have a congress full of non-representing representatives who would have passed and ex post facto law impairing the obligation of a contract to pay bonuses in the case of AIG. They do not wish to preserve the constitution. They seek at every turn to sidestep it through lawyers and judges who redefine what it clearly says.

Article 1, Section 6
No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office.

Here we have another example of congress ignoring an inconvenient Constitutional mandate because they don't like it. They wanted to have Senator Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State so they chose to ignore this mandate and just appoint her any way. The media did nothing to confront this and most of the people in the United States hardly even know where the various states are much less ever having read the Constitution.

Separation of Powers
The Constitution is clear about the separation of powers to prevent any one section of the government from becoming more powerful from the others and more or less staging a coupe. Our founding fathers understood the tendency toward corruption and the need for checks and balances.

They set things up so it would be very difficult for any one branch of government to usurp the powers of another. They understood that man desiring power as they do would fight to keep their own and thus prevent the other branches from gaining too much power. As mentioned above our judges have finally discovered that the laws passed by congress or any other legislative branch are meaningless in so far as they get to interpret the Constitution. All they have to do is declare any law unConstitutional and it is immediately cast out now matter how much the people want it. In similar manner no matter how much people oppose something they need only declare that they found the thing they want in the Constitution and it is instantly law. This does away with the need for the legislative branch.

Though this is never stated out loud the judges not only realize this is true but are acting on it more and more. Our judges have further come to realize that they are immune from the will of the people in another way. They do not have to worry about re-election. Once they are APPOINTED to their positions, it is for life or till they decide to retire. Being immune from this, they become bolder and bolder with each passing year taking more and more of the power appointed to others by the Constitution.

The congress still has a chance to take that power back, but not for long. Soon they will be forced to co-operate with judges or face their wrath. Our legislators have been emasculated whether they realize it or not. They may not even know how to get back the power they've been giving away for the last 4 decades or more. It has been a case of the frog in a pot of water being slowly boiled. They have not even seen what's been coming because they also viewed their job as one of making law after law and regulating everything they could think of. They lost sight of the ideal that they were there to defend and protect the Constitution not rewrite it.

Obama avoids having to have any of his people confirmed by the senate by calling them czars and giving them all the powers of the people who are supposed to fill appointments that need confirmation. Our democratic congress is willing to let this happen because it is in their favor not realizing it may not always be so. I’m sure they figure they will oppose a president they don’t like if he tries to do such a thing not realizing they might not have the power to do so. And so again the separation of powers is breaking down and our constitution is being compromised.
Freedom of Speech

At nearly every turn we are finding our Constitutional rights assaulted. Though it is not a frontal assault it is an assault nonetheless. The department of homeland security sent out a memo to all the law enforcement agencies in the United States telling law enforcement they needed to be watching and be careful of conservative right wing extremist groups. What does this mean? They don’t really clarify what this means. This is a typical beginning to propaganda wars where you plan on going after a group of people. You leave it as nebulous as possible so you can define it almost any way you want. What does this mean and who does it include? Again it is clear that it’s not clear.

Religious speech has so far been among the first and the most severely attacked. Of course most feel that religion is always fair game, at least till it is theirs. Further there have been many new forms of speech which have been declared hate speech. Anything that is considered hate speech can of course be prosecuted with nothing more than an accusation. For some reason as long as the attack doesn’t affect “me” no matter who that is then it is probably justified and needs to be addressed. The problem with this is that sooner or later it comes back to us as individuals but by the time it does anyone that might have stood with us to defend against the outrageous accusations is gone and can’t help us.

Taxes and the Military
Article 1 Section 8
To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer term than two Years;

Our founding fathers were pretty careful to make sure that the government would not continuously raise taxes for the sake of keeping an army going constantly. They put in the Constitution that the raising of money couldn’t last more than 2 years so they would have to constantly reconsider whether the tax for the army should continue or not. Granted many things have Changed over the last 200 years. In our modern age there would not be time to raise an army should we be attacked. If we did not keep a standing army right now there would be little hope of retaliation should someone attack.

Still sense of what they put in the Constitution has merits and as they say we shouldn’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Because some aspects of this are not feasible still doesn’t indicate there aren’t dangers of having a standing army. It is also important that we recognize a need for some other laws to be put in place to prevent the admitted dangers of having a standing army on American soil. I am in great doubt as to whether our current leaders actually have the ability to effectively craft such a law in less than 10,000 pages.

The danger of having a standing army on American soil was that it might one day be used against its own people. We have lived in security so long that we feel such a thing would never be possible, but even a casual look at history shows us all the ways such a thing can happen.

We are now at a point where even some of our men in the military are questioning the right of Obama to be the Command in Chief. This is the stuff of coups. If a General or high enough ranking military leader questions the right of the leader to rule and decides to take it upon himself to do something about it then you have a coup. There is, at this point, some good reason to doubt Obama’s qualifications to hold his office based on the Constitution.

If the military knows it only gets its money through taxes and its money will run out shortly if they don’t have the full support of the people they are not likely to take such action as a coup because they will shortly have no money to feed their family. It is because of this reasoning that I believe the founding fathers put this provision into the Constitution.

The Oath of Office
Article 2 Section 1
Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:--"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

It seems to be taken for granted that the president is to protect the Constitution of the United States, but I fear this has been reinterpreted to mean something it was never meant to mean. We think of this as meaning that the president will defend the United States, but this is not what it says. It says he will defend the Constitution. When our president says that we will have to submit to international law he is breaking his vow to defend to Constitution. This oath is not only to defend and protect but also to preserve the constitution. This means to keep the constitution from being changed or replaced in its basic meaning and purpose.

If the president at any time should cede some of our sovereignty to another nation or group of nations he is in violation of his oath and at that point it would be cause to impeach him for his actions.

There needs to be more concern about our president casting aside our Constitution in favor of international law and international/U.N. mandates. These other nations do not have a right to dictate laws in the United States and we should not be submitting to their Constitutions or laws. Treaties are one thing but to actually submit to their laws is to do away with the Constitution. If we don’t stand up for our Constitution we will not have it for long. We will lose what makes this country what it is. Not other constitution on the earth has recognized inalienable rights given by the God of the universe. This more than any other thing is the foundation of our constitution and our nation. I do not believe for a moment that our nation was primarily founded on Christian principles, but for the most part I think it was. At the very least many of the principles are based on Christian principles. Though many of our founding fathers were deists, and believed many things about God that might not be considered biblical strictly speaking even so I still think the principles were more or less based on the bible as it was one of the primary sources for morality for western civilization.

The very idea that we have a president who is willing to submit to international courts and allow for them to dictate even how we should bring up our children should be greatly distressing to every American, but for some reason people are simply viewing this as the next logical step in where the world is going. I’m not sure what it is about the way the rest of the world views us or has treated us that makes us feel in any way that they have our best interests at heart.

It is said but history seems to show us those who defend freedom most are the ones most likely to be vilified once they’re gone. Even the recipients of such freedom are frequently ready to attack those who bought it for them. Many seem to understand freedom apart from responsibility. They view freedom as good for nothing except the freedom to attack freedom. Consider the logic of this. If you wish to attack freedom and there for feel that you shouldn’t have it then on what basis do you bellow for your freedom to do this? Those who wish to burn the flag and are somehow offended that they might be forbidden to do so are in the same place. The flag is more than just a piece of cloth else they would just burn sheets or shirts. It is clear it is a statement that they despise what the flag stands for. This being the case they are essentially saying they despise the freedoms afforded by those under the flag. If this is so then they should not wonder or be angry if that freedom is taken away from them. Some may say that too them the flag represents the leadership of the nation, but this is not what the flag represents. It represents the basis by which we got those leaders. It represents the foundations that allow us the freedom to get rid of those leaders we don’t’ like.

Rather than desire to burn the very symbol of that right to vote and have democracy and freedom we ought rather to be getting rid of those who would take it from us. Probably more than any other thing, it mystifies me why people in this country would feel the constitution was imposed on them. Unlike every other totalitarian state Americans are free to leave if they don’t like it. I know many, unjustly, take offense at such a statement, but there is no reason to be offended. If they feel some other form of government found elsewhere in the world is a better government they have the freedom to leave this nation and emigrate to another. There is no reason to wreck havoc on this nation to try to make it like another when you can simply move to that other nation.

It is certainly not that they have some grand idea of a better government than this one that also does not exist elsewhere in the world. They only seek to destroy not to create at all. There is little to no reasoning in their responses. They are more about making a statement, but don’t even seem to know what that statement actually is. These are people simply looking for reasons to be offended and most any offense will do.

Our leaders have either lost all command of the English language or they are purposefully trying to take away yet more freedoms. In the G.I.V.E. bill HR 1388 they have mandatory volunteering. These two words are contradictory. Since it will be mandatory we should call it what it is, forced government service. Anyone who doesn’t see the danger this poses is more than willing to throw away every shred of freedom we’ve gained in the country. The people voting for this bill are not clear what its actual purpose is.

Homeland Security
It is a bit frightening that we are now seeing the Homeland Security that was set up under George Bush being used for the very things people feared it would be used for. Our homeland security is now targeting for investigation and for watch lists those they consider to be agitators. Most especially it has been determined these people are either only right wing people or that they are certainly mostly of that persuasion.

With the tea parties coming up across the United States and now listed as being in every major city of the country, there was a memo sent out to all law enforcement agencies across the nation to be on watch for these kinds of people. What can be next? Where will this all end? We are heading down a road most Americans were sure could never happen here and yet is a runaway freight train with no one at the Wheel.

Where will it all stop? It would seem there are only two ways for this to end. Either there is going to be a major move in this nation away from the kind of leaders we’ve had or we will come to a place of subservience. If our leaders are bold enough to begin to crack down on those that come to tea parties after the fact and the media does little or no reporting on those instances (as seems likely) then we will indeed see the end of democracy in our nation as we have known it. If instead the people continue to rise up and demand a turnaround from Washington then there may still be hope for our nation. Either way I think there is going to be a level of craziness in our time such as none in our generation has known.

When you have leaders who are of such position and mindset as to think they always know what’s best and don’t care about what the people want there is little you’re going to do to dissuade them. At this point our only real hope is that the military isn’t called out against the people.

There is a song called “We Must Take American Back” and from this song another book called taking America back; though I think there are many that are not satisfied with how things are going I get the impression that very few of them really know what they want. They want the high taxes to end, but when it comes to cutting any program they like they don’t want to give it up. This has been the same thing that has kept so many congressmen in office year after year in spite of 11% approval ratings. Till we know what we want there is little chance we will get it and it is for this reason I’m bettering our leaders don’t change their direction by even one degree. The media will continue, to some small degree, to say they’re not getting it, but nothing will change and our non-representing representatives will just continue on as they have before with not one of them being rousted from their place or certainly none but the worst. Even in saying this I’m not so sure it will be the worst to go. It seems the worst of them is even more isolated from being voted out then what ought to be called the best of them.

A New Revolution – One of Moral Character & A Return to God
Unlike special interest groups that go on for days, weeks and months till they get what they want I have a bad feeling that Tax day tea parties will be a onetime thing with no follow up until we get what we want. There is probably no man today who is more likely to raise the battle cry against rampant taxes and the taking of our rights than Alan Keyes. Though many people hardly know about him because the media has largely ignored him I believe that God is going to give him a platform and make him a central mover in what could well be a new revolution.

Alan Keyes is one of the few leaders of our day that understands It is as much about religion and God as it is about the Constitution He recognizes that without God the Constitution is nothing more than a man made document. He understands the moral problems of our current crisis. Everything else flows from that.

Our destruction or victory will be based on whether or not we return to God in repentance and learn to take a stand for both God and country. If we are not willing to do this we will have the government we deserve. We must understand that apart from the grace of God we do not deserve a great government or a place with God. We do not deserve the freedom God offers by His grace if we did deserve it, it wouldn’t be grace it would be debt. (Rom 4:4,5 & 5:8)

The message of the tea parties needs to be “Throw the bums out!” and “No more tax money from us till you leave!” We need to remember that we are Americans and stop allowing our leaders to divide us against each other. Jesus said, “a house divided against itself cannot stand.” This we know is an absolute and true statement. It is the reason our worldly non-representing representatives are so bent on silencing religion. They do not seem to understand that the Constitution does not tell them they cannot talk about religion or even against it. What the constitution says is that they cannot make any LAWS for or against religion.

God said in His word the following and there is little doubt that it is true. Eventually we shall see the judgment of God if we do not repent and submit to God and seek only His glory. I know judgment is never a popular subject not even in church anymore.

Deut. 32:35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

Lam 3:2 It’s of the Lord’s mercy that we’re not consumed.

Psa 31:9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

Nation at the Crossroads
A revolution of some kind is coming. The question is whether it will be bloodless where the leaders succumb to the will of the people or whether they will turn on the people and do what so many people in power have done in the past. We may have yet caught this just in time, but only time will tell.

This could go either way at this point. Many other nations in the past have come to this point and not survived it. To some degree I believe we are a nation of survivors, but to some degree I also believe we have become a nation of lazy sheep willing to go along to get along. This was not the ethic of our forefathers, but it seems to be the ethic by which we live today.
We have allowed our leaders to do things we never thought they would do. We have not called them to account for what they’re doing with our money. We haven’t told them to stop taxing us. We keep letting them go on with the taxes as much as they please. They finally decided to go for the big grab and it seems they may have overplayed their hand this time. They may have gone too far. This is one of the few times I’ve hoped they have gone too far. It may cause some short term problems as far as taxes and government go, but if the end effect is that we get our government back then it will not have been for nothing. Most don’t even consider that we demand they reverse those bills and stop the madness.

As many of our constitutional rights are being ceded to the international community we are watching the very thing happen we thought never could. Our leaders who are sworn to uphold, protect and preserve the constitution are dismantling it as quickly as they can. They behave as though they have good reason to do so, but the reality is they have no good reason other than that they think they can do government better than our founding fathers.

Obama’s lack of concern for the constitution speaks volumes. I believe it also says a lot that Obama felt it necessary to cover any religious symbols when he spoke at the university. He knew it was a catholic college and it seems more it was about poking them in the eye for not giving him an honorary diploma. The man says he’s a Christian so it should in no way have offended him and indeed if he views Christ as the Lord he would defer to him and make sure the people knew that God was his Lord, but instead he sought to cover every symbol of Christianity he could when he spoke.

At nearly every turn it seems Obama is trying to find ways to get around the constitution. In some cases he simply ignores it and stonewalls when called upon to produce evidence required by the constitution. In other cases he has decided that the constitution is to submit to international law and that international law is the higher of the two. In yet other cases he overcomes the constitution by appointing czars for positions that should be cabinet positions to be reviewed and affirmed or denied by the congress. It seems the congress is more than willing to give its power to the president and not exercise the power and responsibility given to them by the constitution. It may be that our leaders real don’t know, or care about the constitution. Either way it is a frightening prospect. Our congress may find, too late, that they no longer hold any power at all and are only figureheads in a government out of their control.

Media Out of Step

From what happened yesterday (April 15th) it is clear the media elite are out of step and not interested in real news. They are even more interested in spin than our non-representing representatives are. Where they can't spin something they simply ignore it as though it doesn't exist. It is little wonder with this mentality that most of the media are losing readers and listeners. The News Media is no longer content with reporting facts and events. They are more interested with spinning them for the sake of some political advantage.

CNN one of the larger news outlets had nothing on their web site to say about the more than 800 registered tea parties yesterday. They had no interviews not even a mention of it at least no where that would draw any attention to it, but they sure had room on their website today for a story about a man who had a 2 inch tree growing in his lungs. Little more can be said for CNBC, MSNBC, or any of the other major news outlets.

Fox News was about the only news agency to cover the tea parties. This should in no way be interpreted to mean that I'm fawning over them. They have as many ridiculous fluff pieces as the rest of them. The only difference is that they try to give both sides, but this again goes back to the problem. They feel their job is to comment on the events not to report them. For some reason the media think we're too stupid to make up our own minds about things. We need to be told what to think about them.

The only news media that seems willing to cover many of the stories is the blogasphere. I have yet to hear with more than a 5 second sound bite, about nearly a dozen law suits brought before the supreme court as well as many others brought before state courts regarding proof that Obama is a natural born citizen, all being thrown out by judges because they don't feel it has impact on the American people. The fact that no judge will order such a simple request that Obama prove he qualifies for the highest post in the land ought to freighten every American. There ought to be many reports on how Obama has stonewalled and sent lawyers to block every opportunity to get that the records that would prove he is or is not natural born. There ought to be a firestorm of news stories till the truth comes out either way.

Yet where the news is concerned this issue doesn't exist. Much like what most of the news media has done with the Tea Parties, they have ALL done with the issue of Obama's natural born status. Yes they would like you to believe that anyone that quesitons his natural born status is a kook and a conspiracy theorist, but still his refusal to offer any proof and indeed his active blocking of access to any proof seems news worthy.

I can't help but wonder if watergate would have ever made it to the front page news if we'd had the news reporters and mogals then that we have now? People are not stupid they understand that the News has become little more than an arm of the government. Do you think the people in Russia 30 years ago were eager to read Pravda? Why when they knew it was full of misinformation?

Through the internet we now have many other sources of information at least as reliable as the garbage we're being fed from the official news services. It is not likely the news outlets are going to find their way back from entertainment and spin to actually reporting facts and events. They think being a three ring circus and providing entertainment is where the money is as they constinue to watch their revenues drop year after year. They simply don't understand people watch the news to get NEWS. If they don't provide that news then people will watch other things far more entertaining than the news will ever be. Instead of trying to one up America's Funniest Home Video's they ought to be doing hard hitting investigative reporting and not letting our politicians get away with their lies and misrepresentations.

Tea Parties Catching On, Reps Still Not Catching On

As tea parties are igniting nationwide our non-representing representatives still are not getting it. They prefer to think the entire nation or at least those protesting are just a bunch of kooks. Yes, aren't we all nuts for not wanting to give the government more than a 100,000 per family.

I recently wrote Barbara Boxer, a senator (non-representing representative) from California. I asked her since she was willing to sign a bill for over a trillion dollars without reading it, if she wouldn't mind sign some papers I'd be willing to send her without reading them.

Her response was that our government needed to "inject" money into the economy. I guess she thinks we're all stupid enough to not understand that the only way to inject that money into the economy is to take it out of the economy first by taxing us. So essentially what they're doing to do is take our money from us, not give it back to us but give it to someone else. How would this help me more than just letting me keep the more than 20,000 dollars taken out of my check last year, not to mention all the sales tax, capital gains tax, etc.

The Tea Parties are catching on, but our non-representing representatives sure aren't catching on.

I received similar responses from Diane Feinstein and Lynn Woolsey as well. At least where these three are concerned they never saw a spending will they weren't willing to sign. I fear the most of the representatives in the other states are the same way or they would not have voted so unamamously to spend so much money without ever reading the bill or knowing where the money is going. They clearly have no sense of responsibility. They are like children who have gotten their hands on their parents credit cards and think there is no end to the things they can buy and spend on because the money comes out of thin air.

My greatest hope is that the tax tea parties don't stop with April 15th. If so our non-representatives will be right in thinking they were meaningless. We need to demand they repeal the laws they've past and find other ways to fix the problems they've created. We should make no mistake, as much as they love the class warfare game and want to blame the big executives of the banks for our woes, they were the ones that regulated and pressured those banks to make sure that anyone who wanted a house got loaned the money for it whether they qualified or not, and now they are pressuring the banks again to continue that loaning practice because they're receiving government funds. Am I the only one that can't see the sense in this?

What I Said, What They Heard

I work for a large telecommunications company and I always find it interesting how you can say one thing and the people on the other end of the phone can hear something different. Let me give you an example. Our company offers a cell phone plan that allows customers unlimited calling on their cell phones to any AT&T customer but when I say that invariably I have to clarify it because I already know they have been trained to hear, unlimited mobile to mobile, so I have to explain they can get unlimited calling to or from ANY AT&T customer. Sometimes it needs even more explanation than that.

I can't help but wonder how often this sort of thing happens when it comes to our constitution. The oath of office the president must take is quite clearly laid out word for word in the constitution as follows: "Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:--"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

I fear that all too often what we here is that he will defend the United States, but this is not what it says. Our president's job is to defend the Constitution. This means if our president is suggesting that we need to obey some international court or international laws will hold sway over our nation and over the Constitution that he is not doing what he swore to do. Indeed we might even consider that this is an act of treason and certainly worthy of impeachment. This is exactly what our current president is trying to bring about. He wants us to relinquish our sovereignty and our Constitution in any situation that it conflicts with what other nations want us to do. It makes the Constitution of no affect.

Many of our judges seem to hear in the Constitution the "freedom of expression" but it cannot be found anywhere in the document, it must be interpreted into the document. They hear the "right to privacy" in the Constitution where it doesn't exist, but it is convenient to find it there because it allows for abortion. They find "separation of church and state" in the Constitution but that also can't be found in the Constitution.

We seem to have a lot of leaders and judges that find whatever they want in the Constitution and ignore what is actually there. If we are not careful we are going to find that we no longer have a constitution to protect us. Our founding fathers, though learned men knew how to write clearly what they meant and we need to realize they wrote their ideas quite clearly and for many good reasons. It is said that we have leaders that may well have never even read the entire constitution which they are all sworn to protect. If this doesn't scare you it should!

At the same time these same leaders are trying to define away the freedom of religion clearly stated in the first amendment by using a non-Constitutional statement by Jefferson regarding the separation of church and state to make it so you can't bring your own religion into your public office. They try to explain away the the second amendment allowing us to own and BEAR firearms, citing criminal behavior as a reason to do away with that amendment. Through the patriot act and "government necessity" they are doing away with the 4th amendment.

Consider carefully what our leaders are doing to the Constitution they swore to uphold.

As for representing us where taxes are concerned we have leaders that are taxing is more severely than the King of England ever thought to tax us. Nothing will strip a people of its freedoms more quickly than over taxation. The government is not to be our benefactor. The job of the government is public defense and justice. They are there to protect our right not to take them. They also do not confer rights on the people at least not according to our founding fathers who said that we had inalienable rights given to us God. Our leaders hate to hear the God ever uttered in a public forum as though it were something that our founding fathers also abhorred as much as our current leaders do. One only has to read such things as the federalist papers and the Constitution to see that God was very much in their thoughts and that they mentioned him through all of their writings. No it wasn't always the Christian God. Some of our founding fathers were dieists and Masons who believe in quite a different God from the one Christians generally believed in, but they recognized the right and importance to be able to speak of God in public and included him in much of their writings as the basis for all the other rights we have.

I cannot help but wonder how many hundreds of thousands of pages our current leaders would have made the constitution were they the ones to write it today. On top of that I have little doubt they would all votes for all those pages of constitution they would write without ever reading it. We ought to be screaming to our leaders stop the madness or get out of office.

It amazed me when the Obama spokesman on Fox News said one night that the Tea Parties would have no affect on our leaders or their decisions because our leaders don't care about those meaningless demonstrations. I fear that he was right. At the last election our congress had an 11% approval rating yet 95% of them ended up back in office. We are too afraid to vote them out, and they are not afraid in the least that it will happen.

If a significant number of people people in the United States decided to go exempt on their pay checks for 2 months Washington would pay attention to that. When the money stops flowing they take notice and it seems it's all they take notice of. Because they've made taxes so painless by tax withholdings most Americans don't even really consider that the government is taking as much or more from them every month as they pay for mortgage or rent. Does this seem reasonable to anyone?

They are so busy trying to be the kinder gentler more morally superior crowd that they lack the understanding everyone else in the world has about how things work when dealing with your enemies.

Our congress does not realize it is a toothless, declawed lion which has been caged but the very judges it has nominated. Activist judges are more than happy to allow the congress to think their laws matter as long as the laws agree with what the judges want, but if the judges disapprove of any law legally legislated by the congress or the people, they simply declare it unconstitutional and that's the end of that law. As such the congress has no power but what the judges give it.
As I state above consider that our leaders voted for a trillion dollars worth of spending and never read the bill they voted for. They had no idea where that money was going to go or how it was going to be spent, but they voted for the bill anyway. These people ought to be driven from office. This is not responsible leadership by any definition!

Our money is supposed to be based on gold and silver coin, but our leaders decided this wasn't such a good idea in spite of what the constitution says. Rather than amend the constitution they simply ignore. What does this get us? We now have congress printing money as fast as they can which is going cripple our economy shortly. They should know this is the case, but they choose to ignore the danger. These men and women in congress seem to be under the sad impression that they are at least as wise, if not wiser than the founding fathers.

Our congress does not seem to believe this article applies to them as they were trying by law to undo a contract already agreed on between AIG and its employees for bonuses. Yet through law and intimidation they sought to overturn that contract. Their contempt and ignorance for the constitution they swore to uphold is reprehensible

They have lost sight of the ideal that they are there to defend and protect the constitution not rewrite it.

11 decide for a whole state

It is interesting how much our judges and non-representing representatives talk about and do all they can to enforce separation of church and state, but do nothing to enforce the separation of powers set down the constitution. We now have 11 judges in Iowa who have decided for the entire state that gay marriage will be legal. Since when did judges get the power to write laws? Oh I know they've found a loophole, they don't call it writing new laws, just interpreting them into existence through wild interpretation of the constitution.

These judges seem unable to correctly interpret the most straightforward and simple statements of the constitution, but somewhere in there they found the right to gay marriage. No need to risk the citizens voting on it, and certainly no reason to leave it up to incompetent legislators to write a law (who sadly do show themselves to be incompetent voting for laws they don't even read); these judges will simply decide what they think is best and declare it to be so.

The very fact that they are usurping constitutional powers not granted to them ought to be cause enough to impeach them, but there is little doubt that nothing will be done. No high ranking government official will ever vote out one of their own. Yes, you would think the legislators would be outraged to have their jobs usurped, but then the our non-representing representatives either don't know the constitution or just don't care about it any more.

I cannot help but wonder how much longer the American people will stand for this sort of behavior from our leaders? Our freedoms are being thrown to the winds along with our constitution in the name of political correctness. Our leaders feel little or no responsibility to those they are supposed to be serving. It seems more that they feel the people are there to further their ends.

Notice how many of the following Constitutional articles have been set aside. The people are not outraged because all too many people have never taken the 20-30 minutes it takes to read this simple document. The media feign ignorance as though it's not their responsibility. The following violations I found with hardly a glance.

LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOUR CONSTITUTION!!!!

I flatly find it amazing how the Constitution is being shredded by our leaders with hardly a word from the "watchdogs" of society, the press.
Following are just a few examples of how the constitution is being completely ignored. It doesn't take a supreme court justice to understand these things as they are written. Both their intent and their actual words are quite clearly understood by anyone with common sense. Why then is there little more than passing mention by the media instead of searing spotlight exposing what they're doing till something happens.
Article 1, Section 9

The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless

when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

(Doesn't this apply to war criminals and enemy combatants?)

No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence

of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account

of the Receipts and Expenditures of ALL public Money shall be

published from time to time.

Article 1, Section 10

Section 10. No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or

Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money;

emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender

in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law,

or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

(So why all the paper money? Why are they trying to impair obligations of contracts?) To your credit there was some small reporting on the constitutional basis for this though not much.

Article 1, Section 6

No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected,

be appointed to any civil Office under the authority of the United States,

which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been

increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the

United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance

in Office.

(this applies to Hillary Clinton being put in position of Secretary of State, but hey it's only the constitution!)

Article 2, Section 1

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States,

at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to

the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that

Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years,

and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

(how shall we know the president meets this demand of the constitution unless he proves it which Obama is still stonewalling every demand for prove. If he's already proved it then why not release his school records and give access to all his birth records? Yet this does not cause even enough concern to mention it on the news)

We are getting the government we deserve, though I don't think we're going to like it a bit once we have it and we won't get rid of it. When power is consolidated in one place and had too much time for that consolidation it is rare that anything happens to turn things back.

I hope you will take the small amount of time it takes to look at the constitution and see just what powers judges were given and consider what powers they are now taking.

Non Reporting Reporters

The media shows such contempt for the American people that they do not even bother to report such things as the following story accurately. They feel they are bound to report things with a constant eye to political correctness. Today A plane from Canada with a Muslim man on it crossed our northern border, refused to answer or respond the our F-16's, was allowed to penetrate all the way down to Missouri, before finally landing his plane in the middle of a highway.

Our media reported everything in the story except that the man was Muslim. They reported that he wanted to die, but in the light of being Muslim it means being a martyr. Being a Muslim makes all the difference because it would make people consider that maybe this was a reconsainse run to see just how far a terrorist could make it into American airspace before being shot down, which he never was. If this exercise was a test of our vulnerability it shows our enemies that we are even more open than before.

I cannot help but wonder how it would have been reported had he been shot down. The report would probably have read something quite different.

Today a Muslim businessman was shot down shortly after crossing the Canadian/U.S. border. The the man didn't respond to any hails from the F-16's and wasn't armed and had made no threatening moves with the plain it was known that he was Muslim proving islamaphobia is still as much a problem as it has ever been. Certainly we could have forced him to the ground with such superior force.... etc.

All kinds of questions would have been asked to ascertain why more wasn't done to find out what he was doing and why before shooting him. In the true style of today's media they would have asked questions they already knew the answers to as part of the act that convinces us that this is all new information to them as well. They behave as though they're mulling the information over with you as it comes in.

What the media did instead was to report the entire story but left the means Turkish/Islamic status out of the story as well as any commentary that would have naturally come about from that as well. Even the self aggrandizing both sides of everything, er... I mean fair and balanced Fox News. The most they were willing to do was call the man Turkish and that they only did once. Are they waiting for a plain loaded with anthrax and spraying it over the countryside like a crop duster before they report it as something significant. This man was never forced down by the F-16's, he ignored their every hail, he is Muslim, and was hoping to die.

Of course no one seemed to mention Muslim in their copies of the story. That might cause too many waves or cause undo concern. In one news story they stated that the pilots knew that he wasn't intent on terrorism, though his plans were not clear. If they were not clear then how could they possibly know he wasn't going to commit a terrorist attack, and not knowing that, why didn't they force him to the ground sooner or shoot him out of the air if necessary. instead they report the story like it was a great victory of judgment on our part for not killing a man who was suicidal.

Our media report almost nothing on all the tea parties that have been going on. Now that rumors are flying that anti-tea-party demonstrations are being proposed I'm sure the anti tea party people will get 90% of the coverage even if they only interrupt 2 or 3 of the more than 2000 tea parties now planned in every major city in the U.S.

Our non-reporting reporters are as clueless as our non-representing representatives. Fox is proud of their place among the other media providers but because they're better off than the others still does not mean they're really doing a job of reporting so much as entertaining. All of our news providers have become more concerned with their ratings than with GOOD investigative reporting.

Had we had this level of investigative reporting during the Nixon error we would never have known about Watergate. They would have just paraded out people from both sides and let them sling mud at each other without ever reporting what had really happened. After all it is not about what really happened, but what each side thinks about what happened. This is post-modern reporting and sadly we are stuck with it.

Taxes, Taxes, Taxes!

I don't think many American consider just how much we're being taxed. Consider for a moment. Most people in this country are paying as much or more than their monthly house payment in withheld taxes on their paychecks. Our government tries to make it as painless as possible as they take our money. If we demanded of our leaders that they change just ONE law, we would have a tax revolt over night. No more tax withholding. From now on you have to write a check to the government every month for as much or more than you pay for your mortgage. I think once the reality of that hit, most Americans would stop sending checks.

There seems to be no end to the taxes. Our non-representing representatives have run out of things to tax so all that is left to them is to raise the taxes. Most middle class Americans are taxes 22-33% right off the top on their paychecks. After that you are taxed almost another 10% on everything you buy with the money that was already taxed at 22-33%. Your money is taxed when you die, which was already taxed when it was earned, and when it was invested. Next you are taxed on anything more you make with the money that was already taxed. Your money is taxed over and over till there is hardly anything left for you to spend, but of course this is for your good because, we are constantly told, it is the greedy capitalists that are destroying our economy and keeping the middle class down. does anyone really believe this?

Please open your eyes! if anyone came to you and told you they wanted 50% of your money so they could help you with it would you believe them? Does that even make sense? If you make $50,000 before taxes you will be lucky to have $25,000 of actual spending money. Doesn't anyone consider that if they could keep that $25,000 a year they could easily afford health insurance, their mortgages they're struggling with, and possibly even put their kids through private school.

They tell you social security is broken rather than tell you the truth, our non-representing representatives consider social security their personal slush fund and keep dipping into it for other things. They have absolutely no sense of responsibility with our money.

We have lost track of the purpose of the government. The job of any government is the safety of the people. This means police, and military forces. They are responsible for laws to deal with criminals, this means judges and courts. They are NOT responsible for educating our children. They are NOT responsible for our health. They are NOT responsible for day care or the plethora of other things they have taken over.

Taking your money and giving less of it back to you than was taken is not in your best interest in most cases. if the money isn't for national defense or the courts or police and such like then it is nothing but legalized robbery.

You are allowed to go exempt on your paychecks as long as you pay at the end of the year. Imagine if everyone went exempt on their paychecks for 2 months what a message it would send to our leaders as they watch the cash flow stop. If you think they're overly concerned with even a million people waving placards you are naive. They have already seen that even with only an 11% approval rating still 90% of them ended up back in office. They are no longer even the least bit afraid that they won't get back in office. This year we saw several very high level officials continue to run campaign and even get a large percentage of the votes while they were in the midst of felony lawsuits.

We have what feels like criminals ruling over us because we vote them into office based on what they promise not what they have done or do.

Money or Control?

Our wonderful government leaders keep talking about how they expect to get the money back from the banks they're giving all the TARP money too, but now we are seeing that was not their intention at all. Once it became known that anyone who accepted this money would essentially have the government running their business those banks who accepted the money to start with decided to return it to regain their sovereignty. Now it turns out the government doesn't want the money back. They prefer to have control over the banks directly rather than just through legislation or regulation. In order to maintain this control they can't take the money back or they have to relinquish their control. so what does the government decide to do? Do they decide to take the money back and give it to people who can use it more or do they decide to refuse the money and keep the control they've been seeking so long? You guessed it. They've decided to refuse to take the money back and keep control of those institutions that have accepted the money.

Our government has decided they can run banks and auto producers better than the private sector and so they are taking control. Accept even a single dollar of government money and they feel they have the right to rule your life. It is almost as though they feel the money is theirs! They took it from us without asking and now expect anyone who accepts OUR money to answer to THEM! Am I the only one that can see how crazy this is?

Unconstitutional

Unconstitutional
It has now reached a point that on a daily basis we hear the word unconstitutional on the new or in the media where it regards what our non-representing representatives are doing. The things they are doing and have done are clearly unconstitutional. It only takes a cursory reading the constitution to realize this. Yet no lawsuits are brought against them. Nothing is done to turn back what they've done. There is little or no public outrage about these constitutional abuses. As a result each time they get away with one they try to pass another and another. It is very disconcerting that they are continuing to get away with these things.
I cannot help but wonder if we will soon see rioting in our streets as they had in London. The larger concern is not so much that we'll have rioting but rather that it will be directed against the wrong people as it was in London. England has the same problem we do. They are spending far more than they can afford to and then blaming all their problems on the rich. It is class warfare at its best and their media like ours is helping the situation. Their national leaders and representatives are the ones making things worse in the country but instead the bankers and now the CEO's of businesses are being demonized. Sound familiar? It should, this same thing is happening here in the United States.

People are angry and looking for someone to lash out at. They feel powerless where the government is concerned to they're going after the next easiest targets. Obama has not proven he's a natural born citizen and until he does he may well be the biggest offender of the constitution. Then right on the back of that he nominates and the congress agrees to put Hillary Clinton in the position of Secretary of State, a position for which he is constitutionally prohibited to hold, because a senator may not hold such position if that position received a raise during the time the representative was a representative. Whether you agree with that law or not, it is still in the constitution and till it is amended it should be obeyed. Now we have another official declaring that a demonstration can't be held because it isn't in the interest of the American people. This is not his place to decide. We have a congress trying to pass a law to tax a specific group of individuals to "recover" money they were legally and contractually due. As a side note it seems the media have done all they can to demonize the bonus takers and spent enough time on misdirection that by the time they got around to placing the blame where it belonged it only left people confused instead of having their anger focused it where it belonged, our leaders who passed the law knowingly, allowing them to take those bonuses. Further they took almost a trillion of our dollars and are misspending it right and left but no one is calling them to task on that. Our ire is always directed somewhere other than where it belongs.

Our leaders see little need to pay attention to us because we are not organized in our protests and don't seem to be serious about much more than some sign waving. We need a tax revolt and we need someone who will lead it. Obama may be charismatic, but he does not know what he's doing to fix the economy and I do not believe he or the congress is interested in fixing the economy. I believe they're interested in changing the economy. They are moving full steam ahead to produce a socialist nation and not just a mildly socialist nation but a nation of such a degree of socialism it even has other socialist nations of the world deeply concerned about what we're doing.

Everyone seems to feel something needs to be done to stop it, but no one seems to have any idea how to stop it. Things have been building up slowly but not enough to cause any real concern. Congress feels justified in doing what they're doing because they receive almost no opposition. They may get a lot of calls and letters but they realize as soon as the vote is over nothing more is said about that issue especially if they move right on to the next "major" issue needing immediate attention. Americans are in shell shock. We are reeling from one major issue after another as congress cranks out more and more disastrous bills and statutes.
Obama just promised almost another trillion dollars to the G20. That's a trillion dollars we don't have. It is now estimated that every man woman and child in the United States owes about $50,000 on the debt. Consider that this mean a family of 4 owes $200,000. And this does not include the trillions more being discussed casually on the house and senate floors. The house and senate will not be satisfied till that number is 1 million or more dollars per household. Only then will Americans realize just how indebted to the government they are. At this point we are already indentured slaves to the government for the rest of our lives, working to pay off the debts they've created and this assumes they don't keep adding to that debt. They have no incentive to stop and no intention to stop unless the American people do something. We might think seriously about going exempt on our pay checks for a month or two to put them on notice they can't just take the money and they need to reverse those bills and destroy the bogus money they're printing at breakneck speeds. It can still be reversed but it will take a lot of pressure from "we the people" to do it.
