Non Reporting Reporters

The media shows such contempt for the American people that they do not even bother to report such things as the following story accurately. They feel they are bound to report things with a constant eye to political correctness. Today A plane from Canada with a Muslim man on it crossed our northern border, refused to answer or respond the our F-16's, was allowed to penetrate all the way down to Missouri, before finally landing his plane in the middle of a highway.

Our media reported everything in the story except that the man was Muslim. They reported that he wanted to die, but in the light of being Muslim it means being a martyr. Being a Muslim makes all the difference because it would make people consider that maybe this was a reconsainse run to see just how far a terrorist could make it into American airspace before being shot down, which he never was. If this exercise was a test of our vulnerability it shows our enemies that we are even more open than before.

I cannot help but wonder how it would have been reported had he been shot down. The report would probably have read something quite different.

Today a Muslim businessman was shot down shortly after crossing the Canadian/U.S. border. The the man didn't respond to any hails from the F-16's and wasn't armed and had made no threatening moves with the plain it was known that he was Muslim proving islamaphobia is still as much a problem as it has ever been. Certainly we could have forced him to the ground with such superior force.... etc.

All kinds of questions would have been asked to ascertain why more wasn't done to find out what he was doing and why before shooting him. In the true style of today's media they would have asked questions they already knew the answers to as part of the act that convinces us that this is all new information to them as well. They behave as though they're mulling the information over with you as it comes in.

What the media did instead was to report the entire story but left the means Turkish/Islamic status out of the story as well as any commentary that would have naturally come about from that as well. Even the self aggrandizing both sides of everything, er... I mean fair and balanced Fox News. The most they were willing to do was call the man Turkish and that they only did once. Are they waiting for a plain loaded with anthrax and spraying it over the countryside like a crop duster before they report it as something significant. This man was never forced down by the F-16's, he ignored their every hail, he is Muslim, and was hoping to die.

Of course no one seemed to mention Muslim in their copies of the story. That might cause too many waves or cause undo concern. In one news story they stated that the pilots knew that he wasn't intent on terrorism, though his plans were not clear. If they were not clear then how could they possibly know he wasn't going to commit a terrorist attack, and not knowing that, why didn't they force him to the ground sooner or shoot him out of the air if necessary. instead they report the story like it was a great victory of judgment on our part for not killing a man who was suicidal.

Our media report almost nothing on all the tea parties that have been going on. Now that rumors are flying that anti-tea-party demonstrations are being proposed I'm sure the anti tea party people will get 90% of the coverage even if they only interrupt 2 or 3 of the more than 2000 tea parties now planned in every major city in the U.S.

Our non-reporting reporters are as clueless as our non-representing representatives. Fox is proud of their place among the other media providers but because they're better off than the others still does not mean they're really doing a job of reporting so much as entertaining. All of our news providers have become more concerned with their ratings than with GOOD investigative reporting.

Had we had this level of investigative reporting during the Nixon error we would never have known about Watergate. They would have just paraded out people from both sides and let them sling mud at each other without ever reporting what had really happened. After all it is not about what really happened, but what each side thinks about what happened. This is post-modern reporting and sadly we are stuck with it.
