I'm tired of the congress whining about how they have no power.
Supposedly these men are among the most powerful in the nation, yet they say they can't get any information on the Fast and Furious scandal. They make requests and get stonewalled, or they get documents that are so redacted that you can't tell what's in them. "Oh well? What can we do, they refuse to them them to us." What a bunch of wimps. They make requests from the White House about various policies and things he's doing, Obama ignores them, and again they behave as though their hands were tied.
Now because of laws they passed creating such things as the EPA, and the FCC which are made up of non-elected officials, who mostly answer to the president, the president has the ability to create every manner of regulation (read law), even though he is not a member of the legislative branch. Oh what we can do they say again?
Here are a few suggestions. How about do away with these unconstitutional organizations. The president has far too much power, which the congress has given him and now they wonder that it's being used against them.
We have a president enacting every manner of legislation through regulation. He is by fiat flouting the law and the constitution and the congress just sits there and takes it.
Every indication is that we have a president that is bent on destroying this nation financially at the least which will surely result in the end of our nation as we know it if something is not done. The American people are also not nearly outraged enough about what is going on. If it is not our place to do something about this then who's place is it?
We desperately need to take back our government. We need to demand our leaders stop what they're doing and give us back what has been ours all along, our freedom.
How are we any better off than communist nations. We are told what we can grow on our own property, what pesks and vermin we can kill, whether we can cut down a tree and what tree we can plant in it's place, we are now told what kind of light bulbs we can have in our homes, and all the time none of the laws applies to the people who pass them.
What happened to EQUAL JUSTICE? Now we're being sold a bill of goods called social justice which is directly opposed to equal justice. In social justice we are told there should be one set of rules for one class of people and another set of rules for the other class of people. This is not what our founders envisioned when they set up our nation.
How is it that we allow congress to write laws in which they always include a caveat for themselves so it doesn't apply to them. This alone shows they don't really feel it's for our good or they would certainly include themselves in the law.
The law is supposed to be there to protect people, but they use it as a means to rule over us direct the smallest details of our lives. Is this really what our founding fathers envisioned? I do not believe it is.
Both the republicans and especially the democrats are not willing ever, it seems, to roll back any law they've passed. I suppose in their minds it would be tantamount to declaring they were either wrong or didn't know what they were doing. The reality is that they ARE wrong and they DON'T know what they're doing. Most of these non-representing representatives don't have a clue what it means to live under the rules they've written. Why is it that a congressional member can work for 2 or 6 years and can get a retirement for life from that. Where else in our nation do things work like this?
Our congress is powerless. They have abdicated almost all their power to the judges and the executive branch. They are in charge of the purse strings of the nation, but now because of the power they have given such groups as the EPA they are powerless to stop them from issuing regulation after regulation that has a deep impact on the American people and still not a word from congress. At the most we hear a little whimper from them like the whining of spoiled children who want all the benefits of the power to manipulate but don't want any of the responsibility for the results.
Our congress and our president are very good at placing blame on others, but neither of them is any good at taking real responsibility for their actions.
The president hides behind the EPA, the FCC, the FDA and many other such organization, stating that he doesn't pass laws... no he only picks the people to head up these groups knowing they will do as they are told. He knows the congress is powerless to stop him because they gave him the power in the first place to do that.
We have a wimpy powerless congress who only seek to put the people of this nation down and exercise ever more control over our daily lives but do nothing about policing themselves. They have no ethics, no love or adherence to the constitution, and are afraid to confront the president. Either the above is the case or they are tacitly complicit with what is going on. Either way we will either find ourselves enslaved by them and that very soon, or we will get them out of office and get others in office who are willing to be have according the constitution and willing to make sure that all the laws they pass apply to them as well,
The people are masters of both Congress and courts, not to overthrow the constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert it! — Abraham Lincoln

President's New Powers
It seems we have a president who has discovered new powers in the constitution that no one else can find. Oddly enough the congress remains silent about these "new powers". President Obama has found the power to legislate as president through the use of the Executive Order.
The use of the executive order has been in place for a very long time; so long in fact that everyone seems to think it is part of the constitution, but it is not! The president does not have the right to simply declare anything he wants as an executive order and the rest of the nation has to live with it. Contrary to the opinion of the president and the congress who is more than willing to abdicate it's responsibility on difficult issues, the present does not have the right or the power to simply declare something to be law.
I have been watching for a long time how the courts trample on congress and it seems now the president feels it is his turn. For some reason the congress has no heart to fight back. Sadly this means the congress is becoming irrelevant and nothing more than a figurehead of power. Their power seems to be only what the president and his judges want it to be. On top of this if the president doesn't like what the courts say he even seems to have the ability to ignore them with no consequences.
The liberals are more than happy to see this because he is making all the hard decisions they don't want to make for fear of losing their positions, but none of them seem to have a longer view of things. They do not seem to realize that every time they give away some of their power they are not likely to get it back easily.
The president has just decided that we should not treat illegal aliens as illegal aliens any more. He has done this by executive order and there is not a word from congress that they are the ones to deal with this issue. The reason for this is clear. They are afraid to deal with the issue. This is has obvious by the fact that it has been an issue for years and they have yet to make any rules regarding it. Both the democrats and republicans have been afraid to address the issue with any specific legislation and as a result of left it up in the air. They are more than happy to have someone else risk their political capital on the issue then themselves. The president is of course the perfect person for this since it seems more and more likely he won't get re-elected next time around he's going to create all the damage he can both socially and financially.
Is anyone in congress every going to show some spine where democratic presidents are concerned. It seems they're more than willing to go after republican presidents with a vengeance, including republican representatives, but when it comes to the current president, they get concerned about something, write him a few letters he ignores and that is the end of the issue.
We desperately need more men in congress with a spine. It is sad that we have so few willing to take a stand for the constitution. Many most that they carry the constitution, but in some ways it reminds me of those who carry a bible thinking that carrying it is the equivalent of reading it.
Though many think Ron Paul is a kook he is consistent and clearly concerned about interpreting the constitution according to what our founding fathers intended. They even made it clear that what they intended was clear from a full reading of the constitution. The danger comes when you try to take one section or even phrase out of the context of the rest of the constitution.
Presidents have been doing this for a long time. The constitution does not give them the freedom to issue executive orders when they please as though they were laws.
Our current president seems to be trying to lad us down with more laws, regulations and debt than any nation can bear. Either he is the stupidest man that ever lived or he is doing this intentionally. I personally believe based on his past extremist, radical and socialist/communist relationships and leanings that he is doing what he is intentionally.
We currently have a man as president who may single-handedly bring down the nation because of the inaction of the other 2 branches of government. This cannot be what our founding fathers intended!

How Does Taxing Anyone Create Jobs?
Everyone always tries to focus on the "fairness" of taxing those who have more than we do, rather than asking who does it really help? How will taxing anyone create more jobs? That is money taken out of the economy from people who produce and given to those who do nothing. Why would we ever say that this creates jobs. All it does is find more places to give our money too. Invariably most of the money goes to those who are producing nothing. If you give money to those who produce nothing you will add nothing to the economy.
Why is it that anyone would think that making something harder on someone else in anyway improves their lot in life? If you ask me everyone would be screaming about their taxes. It should not be that some people are screaming that others are not taxed enough but that we are all taxed TOO MUCH!!
It is the genius of marketing, publicity, or as they used to call it propaganda that we have allowed ourselves to be misdirected away from the fact that our taxes are too high and start looking and considering that other people's taxes aren't high enough.
Should we pay taxes? I have little doubt that our responsibility regarding our nation involves paying taxes, but do we really need to be taxed for all the absurd spending programs we have going right now. Are we really not taxed enough?
How does taking money out of my pocket and putting it in the government's pocket in any way create jobs? Anyone with half a brain can clearly see that Jobs are created with money and with money that is invested? Giving money to the government is not and never was meant to be considered an investment.
Even now the propagandists are busy promoting through the use of cleverer wording that the government is investing when they are spending our money. They are not investing in businesses and it is not their job to be involved with businesses, unless you accept a socialist form of government as being a correct way to govern, but that should never be in our nation since it stands in direct contrast to the constitution.
It is also quite clear that any organization as large as the government and as unwieldy due to all its regulations and voting process can never act fast enough nor local enough to affect the changes needed in a business to remain competitive.
I understand the need for government regarding something like an army or possibly even roads, or maybe the mammoth job of space travel and exploration, but the U.S. government was never commissioned to take care of our health care, retirement, sickness and the like. The amount of things they've found to spend our money on in the name of charity and caring is almost unbelievable. Why we have come to accept that it is our duty to make sure that every person has these things or we are evil is hard to explain and even harder to understand.
For some unknown reason no one wants to confront the constitutionality of these things. It has become so accepted that these things just are that no one is willing to attack them anymore. Social Security is not really a constitutional right. It is not even constitutional and should never have been enacted. The fact that it has been enacted does not make it mny more constitutional. Simply passing some law does not make it constitutional. The fact that it does not seem to have ever been challenged is not surprising. Everyone loves a "free ride", even when it is not really free. They've managed to make it seem as though it was free but it is not!
It is a fearful beast we have created, and now it turns out to be that it is only the first among many such programs. As they say, the camel has his nose in the tent! Can it be long before the whole camel is inside? The American people have become very short sighted. They do not seem to realize that once programs like these are put in place there is almost a zero chance that they will ever be removed. Wilson depended on this as does Obama, the democrats and the republicans who didn't do enough to get the American people aroused to what was going on. Now we are at the point that these things are going to break the United States financially and quite possibly as a world power, which seems to have been their goal all along.
A bit part of the problem is that we don't understand the role of government as laid down in our constitution. The role of government is not to create jobs. It is to protect the American people. Our leaders feel the military is one thing that really doesn't need funding when in reality that is the primary purpose of government, not welfare, not health care, not Medicaid, or Medicare, not testing shrimps on treadmills, and certainly not providing Americans with jobs.
It is counter intuitive to anyone with common sense. The government doesn’t create private sector jobs. This is obvious or they would be called government jobs. It is equally obvious that if everyone worked for the government the government would be paying it's own taxes which is circular. The government may print money but they don't produce revenue, they only take it from others. If everyone were working for the government than no one would be paying any real taxes, how long could that last.
If even 50% of the people were working for the government then the other 50% would have to give up half their income to support the other 50% in which case everyone would be living with 50% of what they could have. This means they certainly wouldn't feel free to make more as half of everything extra they made would just be taken and given to someone else.
It is for this reason that I say taxes don't create jobs. The government would have us believe otherwise and sadly there are too many people out there that think the government has its own money as though it just comes out of thin air. It comes out of our pockets!
Even the redistribution of that wealth is not fair or equitable. If it were than congress would make nothing more than welfare recipients. After all they are living off the government as well and they are no better than average American citizens. They would have us believe they are concerned about the poor, but only with our money. Which of them has proposed getting the same income as those on welfare? After all if food stamps are good enough for average Americans they must be good enough for congress!
More Blame
Plenty of Blame to Go Around
It is clear that we have neither a media not a government that knows where the blame for what has happened to this economy really belong.
The media listens to and faithly reports whatever they are told to by the representatives and the president, but they seem either unable to analyze where the blame really belongs or they just love the fact that all the name calling and finger pointing increases viewership.
All the rest of us know where the blame belongs. It is with our government as a whole. Not only this president but at least the 3 past presidents have all faithfully signed into law every manner of new spending, that we can't afford. The congress has faithfully continue to pass bills that spend ever more of OUR money that we also can't afford, with the idea that there is no end to the borrowing the nation can do. They also feel there is no end to the money we can pay in taxes. Lastly our judicial system continues to come out with some of the most ridiculous rulings that give government ever more power to regulate us. If the judges feel something doesn't meet their liberal agenda they simply declare it unconstitutional. In some cases they have actually done the equivalent of writing their own laws by fiat in doing this.
Our entire government is to blame for what is happening in our nation. So, who are they going to blame now... Well the people of course. They now want to blame our economic situation on the people, namely the Tea Party. The Tea Party consists of just regular people. They do this by pointing to the problems they had passing the last bill.
The last spending/cutting bill that was passed was not the one that caused the problem and not one of the proposals put forward was going to fix the problem. Our leaders were not looking to fix the problem. In some cases they have actually been looking for ways to make it worse. I suppose they succeeded by raising the debt ceiling, which will now allow them to spend even more money WE don't have.
Be assured if the congress has money to spend or even has authorization to spend money they don't have they will do so and in the quickest possible way. In no time at all they will be back to what happened several weeks ago and wanting to raise the debt ceiling yet again.
Our governemnt is like a bunch of addicts, who are addicted to spending other people's money. Because they haven't had to work for it, it seems to be no big deal how much of it they want to spend. They consider spending other people's money hard work. Well this might even be true if they were trying to do it responsibly.
Let's put the blame where it belongs on the government. Now I suppose in some senses it might be said the responsibility does fall at the door of the people; after all we did vote these people into office and in many cases, though I don't know why, we continue to vote them back into office.
We need to ask ourselves, "Have any of these people done such exemplary jobs that we really want them back in office next time.
Clearly the Elite in congress who have been there for many terms were surprised when the new "Tea Party" politicians came into office and actually started doing what they promised!" I personally find this very refreshing. We want to be able to believe our politicians and we have tacitly come to expect that you can't believe a word they say and that they have no sense of responsibility to full fill their promises. To them and to us they are nothing more than spin to win office.
We are to blame in some respects for voting for these people. So what I propose is to take responsibility and vote out the people that haven't kept their promises, or at least done everything humanly possible to do so.
If they see we are serious about this they won't be so quick to make promises they know they can't fulfill or have no intention of fulfilling.
We all need to take responsibility for what is happening to our economy. Sadly those in Washington never want to take responsibility. They want to take credit for the good things and place blame on everyone else for the bad things.
For them to say, "Well you voted for me." as thought his releases them from doing what is morally and ethically right won't wash any more.
With the economy the way it is we really don't have time to dally around. We need people who are serious about actually cutting REAL spending, not just cutting the rate of growth in new spending.
What does amaze me, and again the media just reports what they say without inserting common sense, is that the democrats have the gall to blame the republicans for stonewalling while the democrats offered nothing and flatly refused to even let some bills come to the floor in the senate simply because of who wrote them, while at the same time not offering anything themselves. If this isn’t hypocrisy I don’t know what is?!
Reid has flatly said anything that even smacks of Tea Party to him is dead on arrival. This kind of reasoning says that simply because a certain group offered some proposal it ought to be rejected out of hand. In some cases he didn’t even read what was sent over to them, just the fact that certain people offered it was enough reason to reject it and the same is true of Obama.
The reality is that the republicans adjusted and adjusted their proposal so many times that it ended up being nothing like what the PEOPLE wanted.
These people in Washington seem to forget they are there to do the will of the people.
If they have a disagreement with the priorities of the American people than there is a serious problem in Washington and we need to do everything we can to get every one of those people out of office that feels that way.
I must say I do find it interesting how the democrats can continue to call the republicans obstructionists about the budget and jobs when they offered not a single real plan, refused to even bring the republican plans to the floor of the senate, have refused almost everything the republicans wanted and yet at the same time offer nothing whatever. Who really is the obstructionist? Who was it that wouldn't even allow the republicans in the room while they were making their back room deals that they were saying we had to vote on just to find out what was in them?
Yet with all of this the media never questions it or confronts them on their false charges of obstructing. The media is unwilling to ask WHY there has been no budget in conflict with the law from the democrats? Why it was they found it more important to force through Obama's health care rather than deal with the budget and spending while they had control, which is what led us to the place we're at now. The media leave this up to our non-representing representatives to do. Even then, at best, they bring in 2 representatives to argue and question each other more than to actually ask them the hard questions. We desperately need a media that will ask the hard questions and make every effort to get real answers.
Am I the only person who finds it surprising that every time a representative is asked a question he proceeds to ignore it and make a statement about something that wasn't even being asked? The media person doesn't even seem to notice or at least they act like they don't notice. As a result it turns into not more than allowing a representative to say whatever he wants without being questioned about it at all.
It has become about nothing more than representatives blaming each other. Well I have to say the childish, 3rd grade, "he did it!" game is getting really old, or the ever famous, "well he did it too." as though this makes it OK or in any way excuses what they did. But still the media remains silent. I suppose this is because there is some sense of guilt on their side knowing that they have also failed in their jobs and they just keep hoping no one will notice, rather than getting to their jobs the way they're supposed to.
Enough of the blame! Show some real responsibility and actually do something rather than making excuses for why things weren't done!
It is clear that we have neither a media not a government that knows where the blame for what has happened to this economy really belong.

The Spending Cuts Lie
The republicans would have us believe they are looking to get spending cuts if they are going to agree to raising the debt limit, but as always we forget that what Washington means by spending cuts and what we mean by spending cuts are two completely different things.
We mean that we are not going to spend as much as we did last month or last year, or at some point just before this one, but what they mean is that they're not going to spend as much as they planned on spending. Let me clarify this, if they were goign to spend $100 million more this year than last year, but then they decided to spend only $80 million more than last year they consider this a cut. Based of of this they could then request their increase to the debt limit and the media will happily not report on this farce.
This is one of the reasons they always want to put the spending cuts in terms of years, it helps hide the fact that they're still spending more than they were the previous year. If they do it all this year we can see what's gone down and what has not. The media certainly doesn't help except to cover up what is actually going on, at least if it's the democrats doing it.
The democrats can't seem to find criticism of a single spending bill they've passed even down to the shrimp treadmill. Their insanity continues and still all they can think to say is that the problem is that they're not taking enough out of our paychecks. At least in their opinion it's not a problem with how much they're spending but rather how much they're taking in. This means they don't think they're getting enough of your money yet. Maybe if they had it all they could fnally fix all of our financial problems. We'd all have houses, and everything else we wanted or needed... but wait we wouldn't have any money unless the government decided we needed this thing or that thing. Do you see the problem.
We have a leadership in our nation that is only concerned with spending more and more of our money. As I don't thoroughly understand the dangers of reaching the debt ceiling it is hard for me to comment definitively on this, but it seems to me that we have to keep borrowing more money and the option for cutting spending never seems to be on the table or under any kind of consideration.
When all our leaders can think to do is to break out the credit card, ask for a limit increase so they can borrow more money to pay off their credit card that is already maxed out, but there is no serious talk about their spending habits then it is clear these people are in need of some serious debt counseling.
It seems most Americans understand this concept only too well. We are like spoiled children who simply feel that we should not be denied anything we want. In this respect Obama definitely comes off as a spoiled child even to the point of storming out of a room because he's being told quite straightly that he's not going to get what he wants.
The problem is that we're heading for a cliff and if something doesn't happen soon we're going right off the cliff and in this respect Obama is also much like a child. He doesn't seem to care what happens to the rest of us. He wants what he wants and will stand for nothing less.
Whenever one of our non-representing representatives says they're going to make a cut, the first thing the media should ask them if this is a cut on the rate of increase or if it's a real cut. We as Americans need to wake up to the constant deceptive language used by our leaders and by the media who support them.

Nazis or Terrorist - Liberal Hypocrisy
The liberals both the media and our non-representing representatives are at it again. It's amazing how they make up the lie that someone is calling them Nazis even when they are no, but yet they have to problem calling people terrorist or categorizing and entire group as terrorists, unless of course that group is terrorists.
It seems to be find with the liberal to label the Tea Party as terrorist, who are just normal Americans concerned with the economy and the debt and who want their voices heard and have had them heard at the voting booth and now expect the people they elected to do what they sent them there to do. But God forbid that the liberal would label any Muslim as a terrorist.
They scream if there is even the slightest allusion made to Hitler no matter how well deserved or how much the specific comparison applies, yet they have no problem calling Americans terrorists even though they can't point to a single fact that would make them such.
But then don't bother the liberal media or the liberal/progressive non-representing representatives with facts, those are such nasty things. Just say it and it makes it true! They know this is how propaganda works and they know that is what they are doing. The primary principle of propaganda is: if you're going to tell a lie, tell a big one and tell it often.
I would say the hypocrisy of these people is amazing, but little surprises me any more where they are concerned. They seem to have no moral compass and are more than willing to deal in platitudes rather than facts.
We cannot sweep these non-representing representatives out of office soon enough. Those of you foolish enough to keep voting for the likes of Barbara Boxer, Lynn Woolsey, Harry Reid, and their ilk, when they hold you in such contempt deserve what you get and maybe that's why your representatives hold you in contempt. They see that you are too foolish to see what they really are no matter how blatant they make it. Because of this they think the rest of us are just as foolish.
People who ignore the fact that Obama belonged to the socialist party, that he plainly and clearly has espoused socialist views even during his campaign and still voted for him have no right to act surprised that he is now bring about the very things he said he believed in.
Everyone, including the media are so concerned about being politically correct they're not willing to call things what they are. It has been clearly demonstrated that Obama wants to follow the path of Cloward and Pivens to bring down this nation. He has said that he felt the constitution was wrong so why would anyone be surprised that he doesn't feel it should apply to him. Hence he has hired czars to do what he knows congress won't. He uses the EPA to do end runs around congress if they won't pass the environmental laws he wants them to. He ignores judges rulings about Obama care, about the gulf drilling, and many other matters.
Obama feels he is above the constitution. He cannot admit any wrong and to date he has not admitted doing any wrong or any failure. He is such an extreme narcissist that he cannot bring himself to admit anything wrong.
According to his own words and action Obama is a socialist or a communist. He may not be on a level with Mao, although this may only be because the constitution still limits, but whether he believes in European Socialism, Russian or Chinese communism doesn't matter. Call it silly but what was he doing with an ornament on the White House Christmas tree with a picture of Mao on it? If it was a gift, why not return it like he did the bust of Churchill. Sure the Chinese would deserve to have that gift returned far more than England deserved the bust returned. And certainly why display it right in the White House and of all things on a Christmas tree.
Obama's contempt for this nation and especially any who oppose him is appalling. According to Washington's own words if we had someone in the White House who believed in or supported a Monarchy they should at the very least be kicked out of the White House as an enemy to the constitution, so what is the difference?
Yes i call Obama a communist or a socialist, yes it seems many of our "progressive" congressmen also at least have this leaning.
There should be outrage by all American people when they demonize those who believe in smaller government as terrorists. It is an outrage. They are afraid to call any Muslim a terrorist and even made it official that they should be called such because it might offend them, yet they feel free to call patriotic Americans this vile thing.
Whether you agree with the principles of the Tea Party movement or not you should still be outraged at the treatment of our leaders toward those who believe in those principles. This is flat out un-American.
Now I'm sure they will got on their high horse and boast and squawk about their patriotism, but I'm afraid at this point I don't see it.
They admitted that our budget or lack thereof was a crisis, that our spending is at crisis levels, that unemployment is a crisis, that the housing market was a crisis, that borrowing and lending and the banking industry was in a crisis, and yet in every situation they have done NOTHING that has fixed or even set on a path toward a fix any of those things; and now they want us to cheer them on?!
If anyone is a terrorist and is holding the country hostage it is our very leaders. The people who ought to be protecting the nation and the constitution are the very ones that bring us to the brink of crisis after crisis and then act like it caught them by surprise when they created those crises in the first place!

Voting Without Reading
Once again we have another bill pushed to the last minute and of course we have a whole bunch of representatives vote on the bill without reading it. Clearly the republican elite are no better than the democrat elite. They're all more than willing to declare a bill something they have to vote on because it's a crisis, though it's a crisis they created.
I hate to say it but it seems that they create these crises on purpose so they have an excuse to vote on something they know doesn't fix the problem.
Surely they must know what will fix the problem and are just unwilling to do it. This kind of behavior is far more dangerous to our nation than the "extremist" Tea Party, who wants nothing more or less than for people to act in a financially responsible way. Since when was being truly responsible considered extreme?
They say the new bill will cut spending, but no one can or will tell you where those cuts will be or how much they are.
They started at 7 trillion dollars over 10 years, now they're down to real cuts of little more than 1 day's worth of government spending and they want us to consider that a victory.
If that is really the most they could get in cuts it doesn't say much for their fiscal responsibility.

Republicans Will Get the Blame
If republicans don't think they'll get the blame by both the democrats and the Americans for the debt they're kidding themselves. The democrats didn't offer anything and they'll make that a point and say this was all republicans.
Sometimes you have to wonder just how stupid the republican elite are?
And of course they'll say the every typical: "We had to do something because it was a crisis!"
I hate the crisis mentality our nation has come to. Didn't they know this was coming a long time off.
All republicans can say is that the president didn't get tax increases. The reality is that he got an OK for all the more than another trillion dollars in spending immediately with cuts promised over 10 years that will never materialize.
These people who just want to keep spending have got to go, both republicans and democrats. If the democrats wouldn't give in to cut spending under this situation what makes anyone think they'll give in when the pressure is off?
