Compromise or Betrayal?

It is always hard to gauge what is good compromise and what is betrayal. Not having read the whole proposal it is a little hard to determine just what is in the Boehner proposal. Ron Paul has said that Boehner’s proposal will increase the debt by another 7 trillion dollars, yet Boehner speaks constantly about lowering the debt yet his bill is going to increase. Yes it is true that he has tucked away in the bill the balanced budget amendment but that could be 8 years off and may never be.

We are in a situation at this point where something needs to be done now. What Boehner’s plan does is gives the government the ability to expand the debt immediately with a false promise of debt reduction over the next 10 years that will actually increase the debt. I don’t understand what we’re getting out of this.

Even if we get a balanced budget 8-10 years from now out of it, by then the nation will already be finally ruined.

It seems to me that Boehner is just another progressive in republican clothing. He says all the right things but what is he doing. Even Laura Ingram seems to be taking Boehner’s side because of the whole crisis thing, which Obama has masterfully engineered again. He seems to be the master of generating catastrophes that require some immediate decision before anyone has seen them or been able to consider all their ramifications. They then cram them down our throat and tell us how good or at least necessary they are.

It seems this is yet another disaster waiting to happen. All the progressives know all they have to do is hold out for a couple of years on the current disastrous path and the nation will finally be destroyed.

Do not fool yourself the progressives have been working toward this for a very long time. Obama has refused to sign anything or even present anything solid so it always leaves it on republicans to keep changing what they present. This is absurd. Yet the spin in the media is that the republicans are the obstructers.

We are expected to take yet another emergency measure and deal with the fallout 5 or 10 years from now in the name of compromise. The entire plan except the balanced budget amendment seems more like betrayal than compromise.

The Tea Party caucus and the Tea Party as a whole are now being vilified for being obstructionists. What is so unthinkable about just cutting out all the extra spending and government? We certainly don’t need or even want all the excessive spending on absurd programs going on. So what if government employees actually have to enter the private market like the rest of us. WE CAN’T AFFORD THEM! What is it about this they don’t get?

Sooner or later it has to happen. Why is none of this in any of the bills by Boehner? The people are screaming about all the wasteful spending and all of congress is not listening.

It is true I am no fan of social security or any of the other government handout programs. Granted we have paid into social security and those funds were supposed to be set aside for our retirement, the same is true of Medicare and the like, but these things are still not the job of the government. Even with all of this there is still so much waste and duplication in the federal government as well as far more employees than we should need to run a federal government that was designed to be small and unobtrusive that I’m sure we could get rid of trillions by getting rid of these things.

Boehner swore he was going to get Obama Care repealed, but according to his bill it looks like he’s settled in to the idea that it’s here to stay. He uses it as a trigger so that it will go down if the terms of the budget are not met. This means he has not only accepted that it is going to be there, but also that in some ways he needs it there as a threat to keep the budget adhered to.

The problems with this are several. First Obama Care is unconstitutional. It seems that fact is getting by Boehner. Second once it is implemented there will be no reversing or getting rid of it, they will only feel the obligation to find some way to fund that as well. This is the never ending expansion of government which Boehner seems accepting of as the democrats.

Boehner is nothing less than another progressive in republican clothing. If his plan is implemented it will likely be the final nail in the coffin.

Why is it that congress can never announce any immediate REAL cuts, jobs done away with, spending programs canceled that we really don’t need anyway, etc., that take place right now? Why can they never be specific? Everything is finding a way to continue to fund all the things they’ve already passed! This is business as usual and it is what has brought us to this place.

The other problem with Boehner’s plan is that it allows for 1.4 trillion in immediate borrowing a lot of which will be used to support Obama Care and ensure it is with us for generations.

This insanity needs to stop now! Do I want to see the nation default? Absolutely not!

This is the way it’s always presented, but it isn’t a choice of raise the debt ceiling or see the country default.

IT IS a choice of not raise the debt ceiling and prioritize immediately how to pay the bills for the things most essential including our debt and get rid of the rest of the debt weight immediately!

If you have the choice due to your debt of losing your house or selling your Porsche I would hope you chose to get rid of the car as well as cutting back on all the extra non ESSENTIALS, and even selling other things you had so the money you had coming in would pay for the home, food, gas and a basic car.

Our poor non-representing representatives don’t seem to understand this concept. The reason for this is that they are the elites and they have always behaved this way. Most of them are quite wealthy by almost anyone’s standard and they really don’t worry about budgeting, only how to use their new found power to funnel yet more money in the direction.

This is the common sense the rest of us all recognize, but those in Washington are completely blind too. Boehner start cutting real spending, real programs and even real government jobs and positions effective immediately if you’re serious about cutting the budget.

The person who says they’ll sell their Porsche to save their house after it’s paid for as well as buying the new Ferrari they just have to have this year, is certainly not interested in serious budgeting, only the appearance of budgeting. They can’t call it a cut in spending because they were going to do a world tour they’re not going on now. Yes that prevents them from getting any deeper, but does nothing to get them out of the hole they’re already in, especially when they’re still spending money on other things they can’t afford!

Do you people in Washington get this at all?!!!

CUT THE SPENDING NOW! Not 5 or 10 years from now! Is your re-election really more important than the nation? If it is then you are not a person who should be holding office or be re-elected for any public service since it is only self service and not public service at all!
