In all these debt negotiations there is little or no talk of getting rid of Obama Care, something the republicans vowed to do. Now would be a perfect time to either repeal it outright or do what the democrats do, add just one line into some other bill that was far too long for them to read that would repeal it.
It is clear that at least to some degree the Obama Care bill is going to add trillions in entitlements over coming years. This is part of what adds up to the extreme budge we have, yet our leaders are looking for every other area of the economy too touch.
This is one entitlement we don't need. We haven't even become used to it yet since it hasn't kicked in. I can't think of a better time to work on repealing it than now. Why is there at least not discussion about this. Surely there is no one in congress that can claim we're taking any benefits away from anyone since they haven't gotten them yet. They also can't deny the cost we've already gone over this a 1000 times when we were just trying to find out what that cost would be.
It is as though the health care issue has completely dropped of the radar of both the news and the representatives. It's just one more thing that makes me wonder how serious the republicans ever were about getting rid of it.
Can we really afford government healthcare at this time?
