Congress Abdicates Responsibility

Once again it seems we have a congress that is trying to give up its constitutional right and responsibility to maintain some power. They say they don't like what president Obama is doing and then we get someone like Mitch McConnell who wants to give him even more power to do that which they want to do but are unwilling to do because they know it is political poison.

Wanting to give more power to the president to raise the debt ceiling is not something the congress can do. They can't simply legislate away their constitutional responsibility. But it goes beyond this. The fact that a republican and serveral other republicans are willing to do this shows they ultimately they must know that he will do it and when he does they will blame him, for doing what they gave him the power and encouragement to do.

Are these really the people we want in congress? They need to show some guts and do the hard things we sent them there to do. We are running out of time. It is not like we can just get rid of them now. We still have to suffer with most of this lot for at least another year and a half and they can do a lot of damage during that time.

Sadly it seems that their intent is to do damage!

The senate which is still controlled by democrats certainly aren't about to pass ANY spending cuts. They just can't bring themselves to do that. All they want to do is take more of our money to spread around on ridiculous things, studies on the size of gay men's penis. watching shrimp run on treadmills and the list goes on. These people clearly have no conscience. They desperately need to be removed from office but do we really have the time to do that?

They behave as though they don't realize how grave the situation is.

At every turn the congress tries to make themselves more irrelevant than before. They allow the president to select tons of czars, positions not even authorized in the constitution. The constitution is also quite clear that congress must consent to these things yet they are more than comfortable not saying anything and then just hoping to blame it on others. They want the power to run our lives, but not the responsibility to protect them. They want all the fun stuff the constituton offers them as well as all the fame for their positions, but they don't want any of the responsibility for their decisions. Because of this, anything that might reflect on them negatively and affect their being re-elected they simply want to give to someone else to decide what to do. Again the problem with this is that those other people are not people who should have this power.

The power to raise the debt ceiling was not meant to be vested in just one man. It was given to the congress because it was felt that in the multitude of counselors there is wisdom. If it were not for the fact that Solomon said this I would begin to doubt the wisdom of it, at least where this group is concerned.

Are these men really best men suited to the job for which they have been called? Are these men really better and more honorable than other men? Do we really want men and women like this running our nation. These are people who seem to care nothing for honor, nothing for the real concerns of the American people, yet seem to think that we might be interested in penis, and shrimp on treadmills? Are they serious! Would you spend your money on this kind of research? if you would then you deserve to be penniless! I for one am not for this at all, but of course we have little choice because the government now takes as much as like or feel they need and we do nothing but let them continually take more. We even keep voting the same people back into off term after term who have done nothing but htis kind of thing for a very long time.

What really would our founding fathers think of them men and women that we've chosen to represent us. I honestly don't think they're anything to write home about. Some of the new ones we put in place are saying the right things and seem to be taking the stands that we sent them there too take, but we still have far too many progressive republicans and democrats (read communist/Marxist/socialist/collectivist) representatives who are more than happy to ignore the constitution and set it aside at every opportunity for us to long stand the pressure they are no applying.

Our congress, both republicans and democrats need to hear from us and they need to hear we want them obeying the constitution. Do you know most of them have no idea what is in the constitution?!
